Upgraded from 40D, which I'll keep as a backup. Very happy so far with image quality, tack-sharp focus with some help from micro-adjustment, and great low-light images. Low noise and 100% viewfinder great pluses. Not too concerned with 1.6 crop factor, at least I get to use my EF-S lenses! Noticed the following problems: Canon still supplies a flimsy rubber thingy to cover the ...
I figure SOMEONE on here is always eyeing a new display at any given time. I occassionally ogle a 52" Sammy LCD. My last trip, the assoc informed me that their protection plans currently only cover 3 dead pixels w/in a sq in. or 9, NINE(!) in total. Wait, I pay extra for THAT protection? I also saw this: http://consumerist.c...-to-return.html That's ridonculous! Personally I exchanged...

Brand new Acer 23", shipped fresh with a dead pixel right near the middle of the screen. I'm so upset, and the warranty doesn't offer a replacement unless there are 8 dead pixels during the first month. That's sick tbh. Is there any way to create more dead pixels so I can get a replacement, without voiding the warranty? (e.g. no tampering with the hardware) Thanks!

Hello my iPod has got a large scratch in he top left-hand corner of the screen. Instead of a rainbow effect it leaves a dead pixel effect underneath and is quite distracting. Also there are a few small rainbow colored dots on the screen. Does anyone know how to SAFELY remove these or how much apple charge to fix it in the UK? Message was edited by: iPodfan2009 null...

Just asking for advice, I've been happily using my 5D Mark II since January. Recently I've been doing some long exposure shots at ISO 100 (autumn creeks and the like) and noticed LOADS of dead pixels. They're different colours, some white, some red, some cyan. There are probably at least 12 visible on each image, particularly in flat areas of colour. I know the odd dead pixel is inevitable but...

My TP2 has a LOT of dead pixels that are extremely noticeable on a dark screen. Does advanced exchange cover dead pixels? Also, they would send a refurbished TP2, correct?

I have experienced dead pixels on a recent model of a Toshiba laptop. But not on an IMac or on a Samsung LCD TV. Can anyone tell me what technology is prone to this? I don't understand the differences between TFT, LCD, LED or whatever. Does the IMac have a different display technology to the Toshiba, or have I just been lucky with the IMac so far?

Hey, so I just can't seem to tell what these spots are. Some of them are small, some are much larger, some appear to be cloudy type spots. All seem to be the same color brown though, and cannot be rubbed off. Not sure if they're dead pixels, I've run the tests and they don't change color, but what if they're just dirt? Should I open the computer and try cleaning it? Help me! There are...

Just woke up to a cluster of dead pixels on my netbook Hello all, Pretty annoyed this morning, I woke up and turned on my Netbook to be confronted with a cluster of dead pixels. Not stuck pixels, dead ones. They're a cluster of brown/black pixels. There are about 6-8 of them in one small spot. Here is a picture I took... http...

Return of LCD monitors with dead/stuck pixels Hi, I've noticed that two major online electronic retailers in the UK Play.com and Dabs.com don't actually provide consumers (in their legal writing or product listings) with information regarding their policy on the returns of LCD monitors with dead or stuck pixels, such as whether a monitor with dead/stuck pixels can be ...

10 is above the tolerated number on the isight camera which has a much lower pixel density then the screen. 10 is also not accepted on the screen, especially mine with 19 and other guys with 28. If you have these kinds of numbers then it is obviously a defect. Cameras like the isight would have a tolerable level of 1 or 2. The numbers we are describing are huge and would not be ...

Got an i5 on Friday. First thing I did after un-boxing and allowing to get up to room temp before switching on, was to check the screen on a solid grey, black then white background. No dead pixels. Then performed a clean install. Good screen on mine :o) MacPro 2.26GHz Octo, 12GBRAM, HD4870, Eizo ...

c0rr0sive is right, and we won't help you break the law. You could try to return it for a refund but you may lose part of it for a restocking fee. If the pixel is that bad it may be worth it to you.

The 1st part of that statement I can agree with. The 2nd half is just BS that's trying to convince any unsure customers into a feeling of "Oh, I guess it's just me." Some manufacturing processes just can't be 100% and cost effective. Sure, they could make a TV with 100% good pixels, but then they'd have to charge through the nose, (even more so,) for it because of all the displays they'd have ...
