My car stereo claims to be able to play data CD's in MP3 or WMA format of arbitrary length. When I try to burn a long playlist in WMP 11 as a 700MB DATA CD it seems to stop at about 80 minutes of content even though the CD is formatted as data not audio and when I open it in Explorer it shows as ~10% used. Since Explorer can see the files and directory structure there is no ...

Been looking around for a long time for a way to make a DATA cd from a .m3u playlist. The only option that any Ubuntu available audio application, like Banshee, Rhythmbox or Exaile, has that I found was to burn an audio cd. So, after much disappointment, I decided to create a little script to do it outside of an application. I've tested it and it seems to work quite well. Hope it can help ...

I've just upgraded to Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate and I'm trying to burn a Data CD with music files from my library. I like to fit a lot of files on a single CD. In the past in WMP 10 or 11 on Vista or XP, I would go to Burn Options, and under data CD, there would be an option to convert the bitrate to whatever I wanted (typically 128 kpbs). I cannot seem to find this option on WMP12. Most of my ...

So I bought a mp3 convert system and I converted all my audio format songs to mp3 and I burned them through window media player. I would like to know if i'm doing a right way...I haven't played my cd yet cuz it's at work. So is there anyway to find out if the cd I just burned is in mp3 format or is it just another data cd that won't play in my mp3 cd player?

I've been trying to make a data CD. I've uploaded all the images for the CD, the booklet and so on to my media basket. Now, when I assign images to the different parts of the CD, the image thumbnails in the design view come back as broken images. I can't see whether the right images have been assigned to the right parts of the booklet or tray insert - I can't see any assigned images at all in ...
Hello, I was just wondering how to access cd audio data on cds. I know you can directly read the device file for data cds, but not for audio cds (it makes sense, since they are divided into seperate tracks, not one contiguous filesystem). Any help would be appreciated!

FYI: you aren't limited to 9 arguments (a.k.a. positional parameters). You just have to use the longer pattern for calling variables to access them: e.g. "${10}". You could also use shift to remove any unwanted parameters from the beginning of the list, then call all the remaining arguments at once with "$@" I just tried this in k3b and it seems to work fairly well, although it spits out an...

I'm sorry, but you are WAY off base with your answer. I have no issues with burning or ripping speed. Please re-read my post. I would like to know how I can set WMP12 to convert files to a certain bitrate when burning a Data CD. This was an option that was in WMP10 and WMP11, but I am unable to find it in WMP12.

I believe the concern is over a lost disc. Encryption is veritably useless if the person wanting to access the data has unlimited access to the media. Different methods of encryption may slow down a hacker, but it won't protect the data if they want to see it. The only way I know of to protect the data is to stripe your backups so that no single piece of media contains an entire file. That ...

Probeer nou maar eens de optie van mij of van himlims_, want het gaat echt stukken beter werken (en dat geldt ook voor de kwaliteit van je rips )

In the past, I can create a WORD document and save the document directly to a CD-RW. I could open a document from the CD-RW and edit, and save the the new doc over-top of the previous document. (In essence, I am using CD-RW's just like I used floppy disks) I am not sure that I understand exactly how the CD Drive is suppose to work, but in doing as much research as I can, I am guessing that my...

someone I know bought it with all the kit [CD-Rom and USB Cable]. And it says V Cast Music Essentials CD-Rom: you must use this CD to install the USB driver before connecting your V CAST Music phone to your pc. I was wondering, do you really do need the CD-Rom if you buy the cable online? I just wanted to add music, take pictures out, and stuff.
