I have a 16 week old Daschund puppy that I just got, and the problem with him is that will use the restroom in his kennel, but WILL NOT do it outside. We can spend hours outside each day without him doing anything, but he can spend 30 min in his cage, and he's made a real mess. Any ideas on how to correct this so he goes outside, how to get him to know that's where he's supposed to go?
I have a 6 month old daschund chihuahua mix. He is awesome. He came to us 2 months ago almost fully potty trained. He can make it through the night (8-9 hours) with NO accidents. However, during the day when he is crated (due to work schedules) he will pee in the crate. Never poop though. I have tried a variety of things, taking the blanket and bed out of the crate, making his room to move ...

I have seen a mix like she is describing, it is funny yet, strange! I was at a lake in MT and there was a black lab retrieving a stick in the lake, well until it reached shore and is had legs of a daschund! I wish we had digital cameras back then! lol. Anyway, did you write back to her?

Quote from: OpheliasLily on November 28, 2009 06:15:47 PM I just love Opie and your dane! When I was little, one of my favorite movie was "The Ugly Dachshund". Have you seen it? It a 1966 Disney movie about Dachsies and a Daschund. Ever since then I wanted both too! My great grandparents, grandmother and mom all had doxies. I have "Ollie", but I have wanted a Dane for ages (my ...

Got my I/O board on my plasma replaced a couple of weeks ago. My HDMI ports were also fried. Seems like the slightest electrical spike can damage these boards. A daschund chewed through my HDMI cable which resulted in the damage. My TV was still under warranty though, so they replaced it for free. If it wasn't, then I would've had worshond rolls for supper.

As several members have expressed interest in dog behavioural therapists it suddenly occurred to me that I could copy Cherry's experiences in training her dog Millie into here. This the first fourteen days - there is lots more to come but I reckon this is enough reading in one session for the most ardent dog lover. Day 1 ...

We had to put down a dog with a bad temperment. When 2 of my kids ended up in the ER with stitches in their mouths, I had had enough. The registered black cocker spaniel was a birthday present for our youngest son. Immediately the youngest son wanted a replacement and we went to the local pound to save one from being put down. We came home with a 1 year old female samoyed. Meanwhile the wife ...
