Goodday all. Been seeing allot of traffic on the new DWS. Thought I'd throw out a review, sorry if this turns lenghty. First off drivin a 03' 325i, 225 16'ers. Decided this year to avoid all out snow tires when I switched from my summer performance wheel/tires combo and went all season. I've put on about 1200-1300 miles so far and they have performed extremly well in all circumstances. They've ...

I need new tires, and I was poking around Tire Rack and the Continental ExtremeContact DWS seemed to do really well in wet/snow traction testing compared to others. I DD about 110mi/day and with winter coming I need something reliable, but not something I'll be disappointed with come warmer weather/dry traction.

I 've been shopping for almost a year already. I generally make it through winter with minimal driving in snow and bad weather with All season tires. I am considering Winter tires (dunlop 3D's) Or Continental DWS All seasons. Just turned over 300 miles on them and I'm already very pleased that they're much quieter than the stock 17" rubbers on my '08 FG2, especially at highway speeds. They did feel a bit loose at first on the front end, but since the 300 mile mark they seem to be breaking in nicely. Haven't had a chance to run them really hard in the turns, or in the rain or snow for that matter, but I feel I won't ...

I was at the dealers last night ordering some rubber mats when I had a look at the spec list for the facelift type-s and it mentions 'Deflation Warning System'. Do the pre-facelifts (MY08 and previous) have this? I'm guessing it'll be software-based, utilising the wheel rotation sensors used in the ABS circuit. Anyone know about this? Would be a handy thing to have if you get a slow ...

So my A/S tires finally came in today! This will fill the role of 'winter' tires, as I don't see a reason to have full blown snow tires as I simply won't drive when there is enough snow to justify snow tires. They get mounted tomorrow; I'll report back after they are broken in.

We haven't had a snow like this since the Blizzard in 2003. The good news is that I got all season Continental DWS this week, and it's my first snow with the Audi. That bad news is that I sat around contemplating whether it was safe to drive or not since the snow was very heavy... and by the time I thought I should, I listened to the news saying "emergency vehicles on the road only". So... I ...
