After the events of "Emissary", Commander Sisko realizes that Bajor and DS9 are in a precarious position. Thanks to the wormhole, Bajor is now a valuable piece of real estate and the Cardassians (and soon the rest of the Alpha and Beta Quadrant) know it. Bajor needs protection and the Federation can't send additional ships because A) They are still rebuilding their ...

Looking for action-oriented DS9 books... Yes, I'm a DS9 fan, but most books in that literary series are boring, IMO. 'Warpath' was the only one I really was able to get through; 'Fearful Symmetry' was a mixed bag....(I actually thought the Nerys part was a lot quicker than the Ghemor part). 'Trial and Error' was good, until ...

In The Never-Ending Sacrifice, Garak is ambassador to the UFP. In this story, he's arguing with a collapsing government about even the possibility of asking the Federation for help. And then, in Destiny, he's ambassador to the UFP again. The Calling definitely takes place between the two, but doesn't seem reconcilable to me. What do you think?

Nog was never an appealing character. Sorry to be heightest and xenophobic but he always looked like a twat in the uniform. His voice was always like a phaser drilling into my head. Ezri - perhaps the most annoying charater of all time. Again small and what do you know - an annoying squeaky voice. I am surprised the Dax symbiont didn't try to burst out of her abdomen "Alien" style to escape ...

I've had trouble getting through "The Soul Key" because I'm so tired of this extended confusing hodgepodge of duplicate universe characters. Granted, while "Warpath" was another excellent novel by David Mack and damn good storytelling-- I never believed for a second that Dukat, the entire time we knew him, was actually a serial rapist of an imprisoned Kira lookalike. I know that I need to go ...

Was watching me some DS9 last night. Colm Meany, I think, was the best speaker of "techno babble talk" of all the actors. Jadzia was good too. But when O'brien uses it I actually think he knows what he's talking about... Of all the STAR TREK actors who had to speak 'techno-babble' which actors do you think were the best, and worst? I loved Jimmy Doohan, but recently while watching ...

I have now watched all of seasons 4-7, but have only seen a scant few episodes from the earlier seasons. Which ones are good? I really like The Adversary, and Visionary was the first DS9 episode I ever saw. I know Duet and The Search are meant to be good, but I haven't watched them yet.

A friend gave me the first three seasons to watch, im a massive fan of B5 and had heard of DS9 but never got round to watching it. Currently im on Episode 9 of season 2. I was wondering if Avery Brooks acting improves over the course of DS9? I shouldn't say improve as such, he is not a bad actor it's just little quirks he has that annoy me. I can sill watch it happily as the other actors make up ...

I have never ever loved a show more than DS9. I love almost all the characters, and I love how there are funny episodes, like Fascination, Little Green Men, Take me Out to the Holosuite, etc. Yet there are really serious ones like The Die Is Cast and In the Pale Moonlight. My favorite episode is His Way, because I love the relationship between my two favorite characters, Odo and Kira. This show ...

Okay, I bought the Mindstorms set for ds12 and ds9(one set, given jointly). Still have some money in their budget. Option 1- buy extra pieces for the Mindstorms or, is it Technic, that works with it? Oh, and they are each getting a sensor in their stocking. One is light and the other is touch. OR Option 2- a Lego gift card for them to use when they decide they want to add on later...
