Okay, I made the last two up, but could anyone please explain the differences between the various DG834? It sounds like some of them have several revisions (v5 etc.), some provide extra range PN but I am not sure what the differences for the others are. I am going with O2 as soon as I get a new BT line installed, but it sounds like their provided routers do not do them justice. I like ...

Can anybody advise please. Just bought a new PC with Vista Home Prem SP1 64-bit, and stuck Avira Internet Security Trial version on it temporarily. Bizarre problem with my Netgear DG834 ADSL modem/router - I can log in ok and every router admin page displays correctly apart from the router status page. Browser simply reports "waiting for http://... etc". Of course the router status ...

In order to debug my LLU setup (syncing at 4.5 Mbps but getting 1.25 Mbps throughput consistently), I want to try using a Netgear DG834 - this will only do ADSL2 at about 2.5 Mbps sync, but that's OK as the point is to see if the 1.25 Mbps throughput changes. It's a v2, which I know is not good for O2 generally, but it's only for debugging. (Update: I have a static IP address.) I've...

In the last day or so I've bought a new router to replace my ailing Speedtouch 546v5. I've now got another 4-port wired router, a Netgear DG834v4 with firmware 5.01.14 (described as a "DG834UK" on the box it came in but more accurately described as "DG834v4" on a label on the underside of the router itself). Configuring the 834 manually proved to be far from easy, mainly through an ...

I have been having this issue whereby I can't sent emails with attachments - I keep getting this annoying Symantec Proxy popup. I have tried everything except looking at the router - I have a netgear 834v3 so decided that I'd do some searching on the netgear sites as well as google and found this on one of the forums. The solution turned out to be: You need to set the option "Open ...

I like you have got a lot of routers hgv2700 - highest sync without tweaking but disconnections in the evening sometimes. dg834 v1 - ar7 dg834gt - broadcom st 585v6 I have also just tried a billion router but that sync was a lot less than all of them at 1500kbps so didn't try pursuing that one anymore. Regards, Ben Bird X i lo 4.5km ...

I'm sure they'll still have equipment though. Grain drying kit, etc. Anyone keep a horse in a paddock as a pet - electric fence. Crop protection - electric fence. Also being rural you're more likely to be on overhead cables - worse for interference. I'm with you - I wish I could run on a 6db Target and also not have to fight BT's Profiling system - but the rules aren't like that...

In reply to a post by si007 : I just changed back to my previous router (DG834v2) and the upload speed is back to normal (379kbps). I am happy with that but I would like to know why the upload speed of the new router kept dropping off. I guess it will remain a mystery. Cheers. Si PS Having just gone back to the DG834 v2 router, I don't think it will work under Windows 7...

In reply to a post by meditator : Yes, as my slightly earlier reply indicated, I've now changed my router MTU to 1500. Thus far, no problems. Sorry I didn't/can't see that post? I can see you mentioned "I'm beginning to conclude..." but can't find any reference where you actually changed things. People here are trying to help - but it's not always easy ...

I take it you are referring to over usage not just usage? You will need to login to your router and check the wireless settings. Often default router addresses are 192.168.0.1 (stick in your browser address bar) but will vary. If you get lost just tell people you router make and model and I'm sure someone will help EDIT: Another quick way to see if your connection is ...
