I'm trying to figure out what the difference is between these two memory options on a Dell Vostro 220 desktop computer that I'm going to purchase and whether it's actually worth an extra $40 to upgrade to the 4 GB Dual Channel. Can anyone translate what the differences between the two would actually mean for the computer's performance? This will be my main computer for leisure, work, and school....

SO-DIMM finnes i fleire varianter og SO-DIMM angir blant anna den fysiske størrelsen på brikka (SO-DIMM = Laptop) SDRAM, DDR1, DDR2, DDR3 er ulike typer "teknokogi" på rambrikkene, fort fortalt er dei ikkje kompatible med kvarandre sjølv om dei kan sjå like ut.
