I see that there is an option for SSH tunneling in my router running dd-wrt. Is it possible to ssh into the router for ssh tunneling? Can I ssh "router ip: port#"? I've tried and it doesn't work, on the default ssh port of 22. I guess I am just wondering what this option is because it might be more useful to be able to ssh into my router to forward ports than opening up my computer from remote ...

I setup a WRT54GL as a Universal Wireless Repeater so a friend of mine could use wireless from his uncle's DSL next door. His uncle has a WRT54GL and both are running DD-WRT v24. I need help settin this thing up, I got the firmware for some extra tools I need but now I am completely lost. I flashed successfully but I cant access the web through the network and I am totally noobin it on how to set it up. Does anyone have experience with this?

if you think DD-WRT is amazing why dont you come over and check out openWRT + X-Wrt it has all of the missing features DD-WRT failed to copy properly... ipkg is what its all about :P

I have this combo and never had any problems. Had to setup a cron job under DD-WRT to auto reboot the router once a week as it was running out of resources after about a fortnight. Otherwise it's a great router.

I'm assuming both machines have Internet as confirmation they are setup properly with the router/repeater. I'd then check to see if both machine are connected to the same wireless network, just in case one is accidently connecting to some unsecured wireless network in your neighbourhood. Also check their IP addresses to be sure they are on the same subnet as machines on different ...
