Cut and Paste - Topic profile

How does one cut and paste from iPhone applications, like calendar and contacts? Also, I purchased TextGuru, which apparently will allow cuttting and pasting from documents, but I can't figure out how to access a 'document' which is recognizable by that software--ie, can I edit a document sent as an email attachment? Command - C, Command-V did not let me paste wireless password from text edit. Any suggestions as to why? I was able to do so with right click.
