4x adults arrive by train with luggage at Penn Station on Sunday 20 December @ midday. We need to get to Crowne Plaza Hotel Times Square 1605 Broadway (cnr W 49th St). Is it best to catch subway (49th St Station right by hotel) or taxi? If taxi, is there a rank at Penn Station or do we hail and would we need two for 4 adults and luggage? Thanks.

Need hotel room for Saturday before Mardi Gras (Endymion) and all the downtown hotels require 2-4 night minimum (or exboritant prices-->$300/night). I found availibilty at the Crown Plaza airport and Sleep Inn Metairie. Will have car so not a big issue to drive for the parade then back to hotel. Any advice of either of these hotels?

Can I get the metro from Gare du midi to Crowne Plaza Europa, or would it be better to get a taxi -if so any idea of cost. Also will public transport run on new years day? Thanks

I'm looking for an inexpensive (less than $20 entrees), relatively casual, but sit-down italian restaurant fairly close to the Crowne Plaze in Center City. We'll be going to the Eagles game earlier in the day and want something low maintenance and close for dinner that night.

bilmin - you really don't know what physical condition these people are in - a taxi may be the way to go - I certainly like the the economics and convenience of underground public transport - but at times you gotta bite the bullet. Poppa

I was there last weekend. Stayed for the location. Went to Woolworths to get cereal and fruit for breakfast. Stay in room 735 and you'll be able to pick up free internet from a local coffee shop! After that it was off to the Park Hyatt; a butler was available!
