You can buy fresh croissants at a number of places. They are not exactly the authentic French item, but tasty enough... From Maria Bluff, Baked in the Sun is a 5 minute drive. Starfish Market, in the same complex, also has them at their in-store bakery-- which might be fine, depending on your standards of flakiness.

While I agree the entire thing is stupid, it would have helped if they had applied for citizenship. They have been here more than 5 years and they say there is nothing for them in France.
