Connie Hillman attempts to stop her former lover, anthropologist Phil Waverly, from opening a rift to another world atop an ancient mesa in the remote Huron Mountains of Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The Results are horrific....

Although you may think it is implied in your post, I would prefer if you would tell people you are the author. Also, it might have been better to wait until it is available on Amazon before advertising the non kindle book. People who don't own a kindle are unlikely to remember your book. I would have waited until both were available, but I understand your eagerness.

At the moment Lulu is the LEAST complicated to work with. It's a pain in the tuchas, but it does deliver good print. So I'll stick until something easier comes along. It used to be I had to go down to my printer and have the pages printed, then the cover, then stick them all together. Since I don't have to do that, most of the drudge work is done, and then I can concentrate on whacking Amoazon ...

Answer 1 : YES . ...

launa: i'd invest the $200 in a new cover and publish for free on createspace. that would let me control my own price, set a nice and low ebook price, and help me reach tons of readers. hopefully these "publishers" who make their money from authors instead of readers will soon go the way of the dinosaurs. dennis

I think the closing of BookSurge was a good business decision for them. In addition to the obvious overlap, CreateSpace was clearly more user friendly (by personal experience, emails regarding various products were swiftly answered by CS, but inexplicably ignored by BS). And yes, I think the contest is an excellent promotional for them. Publishing is in the midst of a paradigm shift. ...

Next step is getting ready to post. I forget exactly how others did it last years. People seemed to be posting excerpts before everything went up at the official Createspace site, announcing them at the forums.
