One year when I was still very young my mother made a fresh ground sauce using a whole orange, rind and all, grinding it with the berries. I recall she and my father liked it, but the orange rind oil turned me off, with a somewhat bitter taste. Have never had it since. I think the orange juice would be a nice addition. The real thing is so easy to make. And I love it as a topping for things, like nonfat Greek yogurt. Tonight, I made it with some chopped candied ginger, instead of powdered ginger. It is excellent.
