I have always known that Vitatops have made a corn muffin and never wanted to invest in them b/c of the price (love the chocolate ones though!). I found the corn muffins @ Super Target and got a boz and yum! with ...

I'm going to try my hand at cornbread tomorrow. My boyfriend wants me just to make one of the Jiffy mixes from the store, but I refuse to do that. I want actual homemade cornbread. I can find recipes online, but if anyone here has a good recipe they've used and would like to share, I'd appreciate it.

The corn bread was baked, cubed, and spread out on a baking sheet to dry out, with the oven turned down to low. Along with the corn bread were a few slices of cubed white bread, I am using this to make cornbread dressing. After an hour or so, I turned off the oven. Yesterday morning, I preheated the oven to bake a cake. As I was putting the cake pans in the oven, I discovered the...

For New Year's Eve we headed to Betsy's sister's home bearing Champagne and a chicken "bouillabaisse." A nice group from 10 till mid-80s was gathered, not a very wine geeky crowd. Good food (besides Betsy's chicken there was a broccoli rabe/cornbread strata, seafood pot pie, roasted vegetables, salads, etc) and some wine: 2007 Perrin Cotes du Rhone Villages I haven't been really jumping...

I am making greens, blackeyed peas and cornbread, though I am not from the South. I like whole prosperity for the next year and good luck thing, and the deeper message of being poor, looking forward, not back, a lot of tradition and symbolism, and I do love good symbolism and tradition, even if I have to borrow it. Its also just out and out delish! I may not be Southern, but I can cook like...
