Opinion: The Money and Years for Alex Cora By Matthew Cerrone - Dec 1, 2009 1:58 pm In a post to Mets Citi Blog, Brian DePersis asks, ?Why do the Mets over-value mediocre role players?? Similarly, Adam, the Brooklyn Met Fan, says, while he is happy to see Alex Cora return, ?I have to admit, I was slightly taken aback by the $2 million dollar price tag.? ?these guys make a fair point, as did ...

Cora for 2M + incentive for another 1M + vesting option. Cora can play 2B, SS. Tatis for 2M can play LF, RF, 1B, 2B, 3B. I would have signed Wiggington before Cora.

I really like this name - it would be after dh and my grandmothers that have both passed away (Joyce and Cora) WDYT? Any other spelling for Jocelyn? Or other combos?

I don't mind Omar signing Cora, but he isn't worth 2 million dollars. That's a waste of money by Omar, considering that Cora could be had for much cheaper. It stinks when this organization can't even get the little things right.

Actually I'm ok with that, Cora is a very useful player if we don't need him to be a starter for any extended period of time. As long as Omar watches that he doesn't overpay other lesser bench parts by a million or so (as is his habit) we should be fine.

Pending a physical, infielder Alex Cora will return to the Mets in 2010 with a $2 million, one-year contract, according to Bart Hubbuch of the New York Post. Cora hit in .251 in 271 at-bats for the Mets in 2009, playing 19 games at second base, 56 at shortstop and one at first base. In an ideal world for the Mets, he will not receive quite as much playing time next season. http://www...

Or at least now the market is revealing itself a little bit more. People were concerned that MacDonald was being overpayed - but I believe the market for these back-up players is higher now than it was before - the average baseball salary is just about $3million per season. John Macdonald signed for 1.5 million a year for two years. Alex Cora just signed with the NY Mets for 2Million and ...

Missing my two kids. Cora and I had 10 years together and Kavik and I only had 8 months, but they both share my heart still. Loosing them so close together was a huge blow. Now with this anniversery, I ...

So I was in weight watchers a very long time ago and I still have all their material. I figured it was time I stopped porking out seeing as it's been almost 5 months since Cora was born. When I was 9 months pregnant I weighed 270lbs. A week after Cora was born I weighed 265. I went on a strict exercise and diet and lost 15lbs so I was 240. Then I quit and got back up to 250. (These are all...
