As there is lots of thoughts on whys, why nots, sizes, line routing, bypassing stuff, cooler before heater, cooler after heater etc etc ..... How about a collection of info in the one thread including links to past threads and posts on oil coolers. I'll start with this. The red and blue colours denote coolant temps, The long thin pipes are the tranny line connections.

I know ipd sells an external tranny cooler for $350 bucks, but is there any need to buy one from them? ive found many coolers around $50, so paying 7 times as much seems silly. Im sure theres bolts in easier and comes with directions, but otherwise, what would be the harm in useing a cheaper one?

So I'm lookin at trans coolers, and I'm seein all different sorts of materials and sizes and what-not. I see steel, aluminum, and aluminum with copper. I know when it comes to radiators, aluminum is great as long as you use distilled water so it doesnt corrode, but how does it react to tranny fluid? Steel I know rusts eventually, and Im thinking it's the worst way to go, but looking ...

With some new even heavier CPU coolers appearing on the market, I am wondering if they are at or over the limit of what a motherboard can support in a vertical position, even with a backplate as part of the design. Can the boards support a 3 pound heatsink device? Are there any published specifications on this? Is it possible to add some physical support at the unsupported end of a tower-...

I'm looking for those things they have at convenience stores that sit on the counter top and hold 1/2 gallon milk or those international delight milk things. You put ice on the bottom to keep it cold. A google search revealed nothing relevant. We are having a holiday party at my house next month, and I'd prefer the milk(s) to be left on the counter, but they obviously must be kept cold....

Can someone explain how the radiators are set up on my 1998 Dakota Sport 5.2? The first one appears to be the A/C, and then the Radiator for the engine. Is the transmission cooler between those? I have the 46RE 4 speed automatic. My thought, after talking my friend about redoing his cooling system, was could I remove my A/C radiator [Since my A/C is gone] and would the airflow to the ...

Hi, I have been adding space in my kitchen redesign for a 24" undercounter wine cooler. It is easy to find models that either have a single temperature and more space (e.g. the Vinotemp VT 52-SN , or some with dual zone and slightly less space (e.g. the VT 45R ), though I suspect in the case of my examples most of the lost space is lost to the "display shelf." Is any single enclosure to be ...

I'm confused and hate to sound stupid , but I'm reading about EGR coolers failing and taking out the oil cooler and posters are recommending cooler filters , how are they mixing ,I thought EGR cooler was mixing with exhaust and that was how the engine would pressurize and blow coolant out ,how does the oil cooler come in to play , again sorry if this sounds dumb but I need to get an understanding...
