My 1991 Q45 Check Emission System light came on yesterday. I took my car to a Nissan dealership to have it checked out and they said that the EGR system is "clogged". If the clog is before a certain point, the charge to clear it is $800. If the clog is after a certain point, the charge to clear it is $1,500, due to the location and time required to get to the clog. What happens if I do not have...

Please, some one tell me I'm wrong, that I'm just paranoid, but I watched the NI joy stick control in 10 minutes video several times and I did not see a disable or E-Stop switch hooked to the operator interface. The NI guy had no problem writing a VI that apparently ignored the lack of a kill switch. Trying to click on the stop execution tab with a mouse while a drive chain is chewing up a ...

BBC NEWS | Technology | Cars set to get parental controls Sounds like overly complex system. Easier/cheaper option: don't give them the keys? Ford says other options allow parents to limit the volume on the car stereo and make the car sound a continuous alert if drivers and passengers are not wearing a seatbelt . "Only In America!" (TM)(R) ( OIA...

I've been fascinated with OpenCV vision processing recently and I was wondering how I could implement it on the '09 control system. It looks as though it can't be run on the VxWorks OS or on the hardware on the cRIO. Am I correct in stating this? Do you have any suggestions for how I could implement OpenCV or computer vision processing in general on the new control system? Thanks, Matt...

Team 39/842 will be demonstrating the 2009 FRC Control system during RoboTECH II on October 10th at Arizona State University, north of memorial union. As of now, team 39's and team 842's 2008 robots are operational using the 2009 control system. we will be there driving around and answering questions. Hope to show the control system to as many people as possible. Regards, ...

It's certainly not a huge update but it's something: "Today, we got some information on the games D-pad control system, which is much like the system that was used in Gears of War. This system will be fully optional and it uses the left stick and right stick much like in any normal TPS, Third person shooter. This system allows you to strafe left or right, and manipulate ...

MY prelude was not idle good due to the IAVC i cleaned it out and it ran perfect. After about 300 miles on it my check engine light came on and it had a Idle Control System MAlfuction when i had it scanned. When i ran it when the CEL was on every time i pressed the gass the car would jolt really bad. I was able to get to school and when i drove home it ran fine. I cleaned out the ...

Well, deadman switches aren't just a backup for E-Stops. They're often there specifically as enable switches for manual controls. So you have to active the switch before you can start moving around a large and dangerous robot, and you can't easily accidentally operate it. Plus, how much use is an E-Stop button going to be if the machine you're operating electrocutes you, knocks you ...

The output isn't updated until the timed loop finishes execution. To help visualize the data flow, I would strongly encourage you to use the "highlight execution" debugging mode (the little lightbulb on the toolbar) to "see" how the program is executed. "Highlight Execution" mode and wire probing (including the use of graphs) are, IMHO, a VERY useful set of debugging features in LabVIEW. ...

Quote, originally posted by Q451990 » And to answer your question about "what happens if I don't fix this" - the EGR valve introduces exhaust gases into the fuel mixture to slow combustion. Slowing combustion helps prevent spark knock (much like high octane fuel) - so you will have more detonation if the EGR system isn't functioning. This is more of a concern at higher ambient ...
