Basically the guy is saying the Appleman chart says it is impossible to get contrails. Anyone know if the chart is inaccurate or outdated? It came out 1953. Or is this guy just reading the info wrong?

One for the MET people... I've often wondered if the length of our a/c contrails would give an indication of stable or less stable atmospheric conditions. Logically it would seem that when our contrails are very short it might indicate a dry/stable air system... when long, maybe due to more moisture in the atmosphere and more likely an indication of less stable air... is there any relevance to ...

Can anyone advise what aircraft / routing would take you straight over tenerife?? Mainly in the early mornings their are contrails towards La Gomera.. I have noticed Military formations some mornings too. Bizarre question but curious! Matjr79
