I am beginning to get concerned about Julia's speech. She vocalizes a lot but is still not making any real consonant sounds like "dadada" " babab." When she was around 6 months old she had a very clear "lalala" and "blablabla" but they disappeared around the time she started working on sitting up. My DD is much like your LO. She makes noises and "yells" but still does not attempt any consonant sound. It is conforting to know that I am not alone because I was worried about it too. I guess some babies are just quieter than others. ;)

Jillian normally yells some consonant with aaaahhh at the end. Mostly maaahhhh but a few L's, n's and I have heard D's and P's a couple times. At her six month appt the Dr asked about sitting and rolling but no talking questions so 6 months probably isn't a time to worry yet.
