I have a Toshiba P505D-S8930 Laptop loaded with vista 64 home prem. I am wanting to downgrade to windows xp I have all the drivers except the audio driver for windows xp "Conexant Pebble HD Audio" I checked Toshiba's site and no luck. Browsed the forums again and haven't quite found any advancements in the front audio/mic jacks for computers with Conexant HDA. I have a HP dv6000 with 10.5.2 Have there been any fixes to the audio jack problem with this driver? I am searching for a Win2000 driver for PCI Conexant Softk56 fax data modem. I tried the generic one, but results are not good. It works but with a loud noise while connected. Does anyone knows where to find a good driver? Thanks for your support John

Although I have a good tolerance for crummy-sounding audio out of my computer I am considering trying to improve it a bit by bypassing the computer soundcard/audio-out. My laptop has a Conexant HD soundcard and I simply use the computer's headphone jack. Can I improve on that using an expresscard or USB or firewire-400 option that doesn't cost too much?
