Hi All the hotels we are interested in for our stay including the New Year have a compulsory gala dinner (I'm considering the Kata Palm and Resort.) Are these something to avoid. Are they usually good value or is it just an excuse to double the price for the night? I suppose compared to at home they are not exhorbitant but it's just the idea of being made to stay ...
