I was wondering if anyone knows what my compression ratio would be if I get a rebuild kit that boasts 9.5:1 with 54cc heads and I will be putting on 64cc heads. Also, how can I raise the compression to 9.5 being that it will inevitably be lower than 9.5.

Hello NASIOC! CP Pistons has released new 9.0:1 compression ratio pistons for the EJ255/EJ257. These shelf pistons now give 2.5L owners the option to use an 8.2:1 or 9.0:1 compression piston. CP pistons have become one of the most popular choice of pistons when it comes to motor builds. These are going to be readily availble at Akuma Motorsports starting November 20th! Pm me for best pricing!...

I just put together my 2110 motor, and the compression is about 8.7 to 1. I was wondering if I should up it to about 9.3. Would that make any noticeable difference in the way it runs or should I leave it the way it is? 2110 web 86b 42x37.5 cb mini wedgeports 44 idfs 1 5/8" sidewinder 1.4 scats

Guys, I hope this isnt a repeat. I have searched the web, this site and many others with out success. I need confirmation on static compression ratio for my 2003 GT 4.6. I am rebuilding with an Eaton 112 and I am trying to decide on what my new compression ratio should be. I feel I cant know that w/o knowing what it was stock. I have seen numbers ranging from 9.1 to 1 up to 9.7 to 1 stock for a ...

My 2F rebuild now needs to go oversize pistons 0.060" (due to damage on no 5 cylinder wall that makes overbore essential .) My plan is to end at 9:1 compression ratio max . How does the overbore effect the ratio ? Do I need to skim more or less off the head to get to 9:1 ? What will the displacement be with overbore 0.060" ? Does overbore give more power ? How does it affect fuel ...

Assuming it is safe to use an initial compression ratio of 8.5 to 1 and 5# of boost for a final of 12 +, on 93 octane, why is not accepted to run 12 or 13 compression, naturally aspirated ?

Some of that airplane fuel might be leaded. Stuff is like 112 octane. My mom ran it in our small rototiller once. Ran like a raped ape for about 15 minutes until it overheated.

With your CR of 8.7:1 your dynamic CR is down around 6.5:1 which is fine if you want to run regular gas, but it sort of defeats the purpose of the 86b cam. You are leaving a lot of performance on the table. If you up it to 9.3:1 then you'll have just under 7:1 dynamic. Do that and keep your deck height right around 0.050" and it will run just fine on premium gas. My two cents.
