calculate the pH of the solution prepared by adding .10mol each of hydroxylamine and hydrochloric acid in 500ml of water. I was trying to set this up and my understanding is that these two compounds are in water and are "reacting" together to form hydroxylamine hydrochloric acid. with that said the OH in the product would be the determining factor for pH. so would I use the Ka of hydrochloric ...

I've searched the archives and haven't really found the answers I was looking for. I have no R-compound experience and all of my track time has been on some form of a treaded street tire. What are the main things to know when driving on R-compounds versus street tires on the track? Handling differences? Do they communicate with sound and feel similar to a street ...

Scientists at the University of Granada have identified and characterized for the first time different antioxidant compounds from foods such as olive oil, honey, walnuts and a medicinal herb called Teucrium polium. They have used two new techniques, capillary electrophoresis and high resolution liquid chromatography, that have enabled them to identify and quantify a great part of the phenolic ...

Quite often I have come across questions like predict the melting point order of these ionic compounds. More often than not I have got it wrong. Is there any general procedure for answering them? say for example NaCl, KCl, MgO and BaO I have always considered, more ionic --> higher melting point Is this correct in all cases?

Our defence is not fit for purpose... The defence has been weak all season, and now Smith at GK just compounds that further. I cringed last night to see our so called defence backing off Norwich players and letting them walk the ball through the pen area. Whing, El-Abd, Elphick - not fit for purpose. Get rid... ...

I'll look at this more after Monday :-) But it seems that the GSK compounds are "fused" ring systems vs ENMD-2076 unfused. This always interested me by relation to DNA purine base fused ring systems. (fused meaning two rings attached to each other by on bond on each of adjacent ring atoms - thus the nomenclature '3,4-b" etc indicating which part of one ring is fused to the other - so there is no ...

I just need to whine a little. My hair is a lifeless, flat, mess. I truly hate it at this moment. I know it's because of the weather. There is like zero moisture in the air right now, and it's cold outside so the heat is on which just compounds the problem. Even my toy poodle is not looking as good as he normally does. We both are dealing with static, and my hair is so flat and lifeless. I...
