I just had a colonoscopy and a polyp the size of my thumb removed. That's the last of my three nasty medical procedures. They kept shooting me with Demarol and Valium, so I'm pretty goofed up right now. The discharge instructions said: "Don't drive, operate heavy machinery, or make any important decisions." They pump air into your colon first, so it's been one booming, smelly fart ...

Does anyone else have an issue with sesame seeds glued to hamburger buns??? Not too long ago I had to drink a special liquid to do a colon cleansing prior to a colonoscopy. Even though I HAD NOT eaten a fast good hamburger in ages...(warning of graphic discriptions)...I found that HUNDREDS of sesame seeds as well as what appeared to be other types of seeds were flushed from my system!!! That ...

With my new doc I've been going for all the tests someone my age should have. Today was the colonoscopy. Doesn't that sound like fun. Anyway, the doc ordered Trylite with the flavor packs due to the diabetes. I did a google for that stuff and read how awful it tastes due to having sacchrine. They gave a lot of tips to try to get the 4 liters down. I took the script to Walmart last Tuesday...

I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy on Friday at 8:00 am. This will be my 4th bowel prep and each prep has been different. This one says to start a clear liquid diet at noon the day before. I've always been told to start the clear liquid diet after midnight the night before. Also, it's the Miralax prep with the gatoride, but this one calls for 4 Dulcolax tabs the afternoon before. That seems ...

I have diverticulosis & immediately after a colonoscopy had excruciating pain, dismissed w/out any medical advice. 4 days later finished in emergency, iatrogenic spleen injury with hematoma was diagnosed, hospitalized some hours to monitor blood & provided IV solutions. Suffering 3 autoimmune disorders & begged to keep the spleen. Not obtain explanations about why 3 weeks later persisted ...

I need some advice... I'm going on my employee health insurance in January. According to the woman at work who handles it, it will go into effect January 3rd. I'm currently paying out of pocket for health insurance, and I have a colonoscopy scheduled for January 5th. I don't want to cancel my current insurance until I know I have coverage from my employee one. The problem is, the employee one ...

Hi guys I'm having a colonoscopy done on January 5th and the main reason for having it done is to have narrowing parts of my intestines opened wider for easier passage which will hopefuly mean less pain, less time on the toliet (its quite common for my trips to take 30-40 mins ), and more solid bowel movements. However as great as that sounds its all a "hopefuly" and I am very very nervous ...

......I have my very first colonoscopy scheduled and have a question. My instructions say to take an ENTIRE bottle of Miralax (mixed with something like Crystal Light/Gatorade). An ENTIRE bottle????? Is this a misprint???? Two Ducolax tablets and later the ENTIRE bottle!!!! Sorry for saying it over and over but I just can't believe it. Is this right?

Just noticed an old post from 2005, discussion thread is closed. I have the same problem as the woman from '05. My bowels are essentially whacked out between near incontinence, and occassional constipation. The common thing is white, very hard specks in stool which resemble slightly small sesame seeds. I've got some diverticuli so already don't eat seeds/nuts. The '05 woman listed Effexor as...

Nov. 6 (HealthDay News) -- Early morning colonoscopies detect more polyps than colon cancer screenings done later in the day, and the number of polyps found decreases by the hour as the day progresses, a new study has found. Removing polyps is believed to reduce the risk of colon cancer by 60 to 90 percent. Researchers from the University of California, Los Angeles, analyzed data on ...

A 67-year-old man comes to the office for a follow-up visit to review the findings from a colonoscopy that was performed 2 weeks earlier. A 0.9 cm tubular adenoma was removed from his sigmoid colon. No other lesions were visualized in the colon. He has no family history of colon cancer and is very concerned when you tell him that the polyp was adenomatous. All previous colonoscopies were normal....

Anyway, it's not up my nose tomorrow.......butt, I'm going for the colonoscopy! I haven't had anything to eat all day. The morning will be for the Gatorade and poop powder stuff. Much like an impending colonoscopy the Reds will play baseball again in 2010. You dread it all year, you know it isn't going to be pleasant but you know it has to be done so you sign up for it wanting nothing more than to limp out of there with some semblance of dignity and a promise that you at least aren't going to die for another year. When its all said and done some wealthy guy is ...

My mom called early this morning, crying. My dad had a colonoscopy this morning, and the doctor told my mom that there's a spot, an actual "hole" that he is quite sure is malignant. (The way he put it: "I'm not going to lie to you. I'm pretty positive it's a malignancy.") So now they have to confirm that diagnosis and they have to do tests to see if the cancer's spread--but they have to wait ...
