I have a 2001 V70 T5, it is at 72K miles and runs well. The latest updates per Volvo incuded reprogramming to improve performance of the the throttle, and the upgrade for the fuel system do to fuel leaks. My truck with 2.6 fuel injected engine has a cold start problem. It will not start,, no matter how long I crank it, or if the gas pedal is held down, or left up. First start of the day is not happening no matter what,, UNTIL I SPRAY STARTING FLUID. One shot of starting fluid into the intake, and it starts right up. After that, it will start right up the rest of the day. WHATS UP?

I have a new 318i m sport tourer(e91) with aprox 320 miles on the clock. The car has a cold start problem-most mornings after the car has been laid up overnight instead of a nice smooth startup the engine gets up to about 450 rpm and then cranks over for about 3 seconds before it catches and fires up normaly.This happens 8 out 10 times the other times it just fires up perfectly and revs at 1100...

Hi All and in particular Malcolm, A few weeks back I posted a request about my ML320 2000 model running rough on start up from cold but not every time. Malcolm, you suggested the CPS which was duly changed but to no avail as the problem persists. Any one got any other ideas? Regards Martyn.

(I posted this problem a couple of weeks ago and was advised that it could be a split pipe under the air filter housing but my mechanic says the pipe is sound). On cold start my 2003 C200K chugs and grunts vigorously for about a minute and then runs smoothly. I`m worried that this may worsen as the weather becomes colder. Any more ideas?

I have a 95' powerstroke with a gutted ebp valve. The truck runs fantastic but on cold startups it has no power for about 10 minutes. Just like when the ebpv was in. My Vic started doing this recently. When I start it cold, it almost dies immediately after start, but then picks back up and everything is fine. It even died once. I don't touch the gas pedal when I start. When it smooths out, it's very responsive... no missing, hesitation, or CEL.... tons of power. Just this weird dip in RPM. When warm, the problem goes away... Any ideas?

I have a 1994 E150 conv. van that runs good, but now that it is colder I have a problem. I have changed the throttle position sensor, and still have a problem with cold start. It runs fine after a couple mins. warm up. Help! PS: It idles too low upon starting in cold weather.

Greetings, When I start to drive my 04 accent (manual transmission) in cold weather (-10C) there is clear rattle coming from behind the dash board - as if some piece of plastic is loose. Once the engine warms up, the rattle is gone. The engine does not vibrate and it idles fine as well. Only when driving the rattle becomes apparent. Any ideas?
