Clubhead speed is easily attained by retaining a deep wrist set and making a very late release. The clubhead WHIPS through with very little effort. All efforts to accelerate the clubhead by PUSHING it from the handle are counter-productive. When the golfer tries to push the lower part of the handle, the clubhead prematurely reaches its fastest point long before it reaches the ball--and then...

This was no "slip" like often happens when a baseball bat goes flying into the crowd. Tiger Woods just didn't like the looks of his shot, and instead of slamming his clubhead into the turf, as he had been doing frequently, he hauled off and flung it into the gallery. When he walked over to retrieve it, he hardly acknowledged the courtesy of the paying customers--who were kind enough to...

Golf clubs are used in the sport of golf to hit a golf ball. Each club is composed of a shaft with a lance (grip) and a clubhead. Woods are used for long-distance fairway or tee shots; irons, the most versatile class, are used for a variety of shots; putters are used mainly on the green to roll the ball into the cup. An important variation in different clubs is loft, or the angle between the ...

Golf Lag Drills – One of the quickest ways to get power in your golf swing is creating and retaining wrist lag. Your wrists create a tremendous amount of clubhead speed through impact. Here are some simple drills and tips to help you create more lag in your golf swing. Hold Right Wrist Angle The most common move in golf is “casting”. That is a premature release of the right wrist ...

I'd bet against a range rat any day over the guy that spends hours at the chipping and putting green. So, how does hitting a 1 iron help you hit a flop shot or escape from tall rough? How does it teach you to hit a punch cut or a knock down? Very 1 dimensional. (just had to get that one in somehow.) I'll give you this Larry, if you have a tournament were you can only play with a 1 iron off...

I clean the clubheads with a damp towel after each shot, and clean the grooves with the brass bristle side of a club brush (brass bristles do no harm to a steel clubhead, forged or cast) that is clipped to my bag. That seems sufficient to me to keep then spotless... I don't bother with any soap and water cleaning. I don't wax anything. In 35 years of playing golf I've never felt any compulsion...

Your preaching to the choir...I am not a huge DRIVER fan for all golfers. Doesn't that knock you over that you can hit your 3 wood almost as far as your driver and straighter. A couple of things. Are they from the same company, same shaft, same head, etc.? I hate to give you a tip and then it messes up your 3 woods swing. After impact the clubhead has to arc back to the right. If ...
