Asked before but no answers. On a new setup, with a SS driving a C11 BOB to a VFD. Mach controls the speed but the loop will not close when this option is selected (it just continues open loop). The tach index displays rpm correctly. I used this exact setup before but on a PP instead of a SS and it worked fine. Is this a known issue?

I have a oil fired boiler that I get domestic hot water and a hot water heat closed loop. To work on changing my pressure regulator,(a Watts 12-15 psi with a quick fill lever.) and my circulating pump; can I turn off my supply to pressure regulator and drain the closed loop while still allowing domestic hot water to operate. I do not know what the inside of the boiler is like; can the loop be ...

I'd like to better understand how the G320/320X/340 closes the feedback loop. I haven't seen this anywhere in the forum, but please point me in the right direction if it's covered somewhere else. My primitive (maybe incorrect) understanding is that they are constantly comparing step count with encoder count and when/if there is a mismatch they will apply power to take corrective action. If...

I have an 07 2.5i. UEL, catless midpipe, axleback etc... The car ran fine for the 5 months or so since I did all that but now that it's gotten cold i got p0420 the other day. The o' so famous cat code. Now, i cleared it to see if it'd come back, it hasn't but I can tell the car is not running to it's full potential. I also noticed that the car is switching back and forth from open to closed ...

Hi everyone, This is my first post on APUG and I'm hopeful that someone will have answers to my questions since I've seen the collective wisdom that's out there. I recently bought a second-hand De Vere 507 enlarger with the closed-loop colour head and installed it in a shed that I've been converting into a darkroom over the past while. It worked very well initially but I think that it has...

I'm thinking about getting the above fitted, but would be really interested to hear what you all think about it. Worth the money? Good gains? Too much of a loss in economy.

Here's the setup. I have a closed loop (recirculation) air system. I am blowing air through several feet of ductwork into a sealed room. The air is returned to the suction of the blower but not until after it passes through a set of filters. I need to maintain the pressure inside the room at not less than -0.1 inches w.g., but not more than 0 inches (gauge). In general then the question is ...

We design and build closed water cooling systems and would be willing to help with a complete system or simply advice. You can call us at 866-726-COOL. We're an advertiser as well on OSO. But the bottom line is that if you are going to spend a ton rebuilding your engines, it just doesn't make sense not to install the FWC system. All the flexibility the guys talk about above...it's all ...

Al, thanks for the pointer. I understand the basics of PID and how the loop is closed back to the driver. I was wondering how to handle error conditions that may occur. It looks like the Gecko servo drives have an ERROR pin (output) that can be tied back to one of the port (Mach) inputs to indicate an error has occurred. From the 320X manual: "The voltage on this terminal is +5VDC when...

Probably not. If it is setup with a primary/secondary loop, maybe. The boiler needs to be under pressure and the water lines full when it is firing or you'll get flash steam, and probably break something. If the primary loop can be isolated, then you could work on the secondary loop, but I'm not sure this is often setup to allow this.

Hi: Hmm, Ill look into why the closed loop may have changed..the new threadng code may have affected it. If the TPS problem keeps the PCM from going into closed loop then the torque converter will not lock up. Also, the TPS output is a factor in the PCM determining when to downshift.

In Closed Loop uplink power control, when subchannelization is applied in uplink, the transmitted power density of used subcarriers is kept same by the SS by adjusting its transmitted power. In Open Loop uplink power control (Optional), the power per subcarrier is adjusted depending on the link quality. There further two types: Passive, where SS does not contribute in the power adjustment ...

Just to clear up some confusion... The idea of the GM module "filtering" the knock signal is correct. The "knock box" comes into play because unlike the Megasquirt the Haltech does not have configurable maps. The box was designed to convert the split second low signal from the GM module to a smooth analog signal that the Haltech can then translate into timing pull via the trim function....
