It seems like about 5 years now as we haven't really progressed past 3ghz signigicantly. Thinking about it I realised that 3ghz equates to a cycle duration of about 333ps. During such a short time, the distance that light travels is about 10cms. To put this into comparison the ATX board is about 30 cms long, so my point is Are we we likely to see significant increases in clock ...

Antique Clocks
Started 2 weeks, 1 day ago (2009-11-19 00:00:00)  by Kenneth Saunders
I recently purchased a repairable Seth Thomas schoolhouse clock. I cleaned, oiled and adjusted the movement and it runs well. Too well. It gains over and hour a day. The movement has 44F stamped in the plate. The escapement wheel has 32 teeth and the pallet has 7 teeth between it's plate. The wheel looks original with its wear, but the pallet is definitely not. It is home made. Does  the number ...

I just checked CPU clock with CPU-Z on my Latitude E4200 with Core 2 Duo SU9400 and found something weired. It is 1.4GHz processor and the lowest clock speed it would go down to is 1197.1 MHz and it will go up to 1596.1 MHz. When I run this laptop with battery only or set power setting to power saver, the clock speed will stay at 1596.1 MHz and will not change. (actually over clocking ...

amnotanoobie wrote : YES. If you search through the forums, nobody would recommend the i7 950 or i7 975 unless the OP has an insane amount of cash, has maxed out every other piece of equipment, and wouldn't dare overclock. Intel has quite a monopoly on the high-end segment of computer processors today, nothing could come close from the competition so why sell it cheap? From a financial point of...

The 512MB version of the card uses GDDR3 as opposed to GDDR2. Of the two, the 512MB GDDR3 will be the better choice. The 4650 can't utilize 1GB of memory, so you'd be better going with the faster GDDR3 card.

It seem a fair number of users want to run Speedster1's and Speedster2's as enthusiast type systems as opposed to professional workstation/server systems - changes to increase the graphics throughput and perhaps clock adjustments for hyper-transport speed as well as individual adjustments for memory latencies and command rate. - will the factory unofficially confirm if "FX" CPU's and non ECC,non ...
