Ive got myself a question about Time Clipless pedals. I picked up a used bike over the summer and it has some time pedals that look similar to these: http://bikeisland.com/images/PD2372.jpg The thing is, is that I have no idea what type of clips I need to find or even where I can find clips for these pedals. I also need to figure out of they are two or three screws so I know what...

Hey I was wanting to get my girlfriend clipless pedals for her road bike for Christmas. I was thinking Shimano PD-R540, anyone have any experience with those? She's fairly new to road biking, just got her bike last summer, but she's pretty serious about it. Until it got too cold and dark she was doing 30 miles after work almost every day and 60-80 miles on the weekends. I was thinking ...

About 5 months ago I invested in a clipless set-up....I still consider it some of the best money i've spent on my bike. Lately, what with a semester's end (finals + term papers) and lame weather, I've had to bike vicariously through others . I've spent most of my time either on the slopes in california or in the mountains of whistler Canada. There is, however, one thing I notice:...

I've ridden clipless pedals since my first week of mountain biking nearly eight years ago. Lately I've been doing a shuttle day each Sunday and have been going a little bigger each week. Yesterday I hit a 10 or 12 foot gap jump a dozen times or so and I plan to hit some bigger stuff soon. Everyone else out there yesterday was riding flats. Am I a train wreck waiting to happen? I have SH51 and just starting out with clipless. I'm sure eventually I will use SH51 Cleats but during this learning experience I would like to start out with a set of SH55's. Since I hoping for a very short tranistion period I was hoping that I can find a set of SH55's for a very low used price. Does anyone have a set laying around that they want to sell inexpensively? Location;(Pittsburgh,PA)

I switched from clipless to platforms recently-using Tioga Spyder pedals and Marizocchi Bomber shoes. After long rides that have plenty of hills or riding thru lots of washes, the balls of my feet are hammered when I get back home. I like the lighter weight of the Spyders but they're definitely smaller than regular platforms pedals. The sole of the Marizocchi's seem plenty stiff ...

Hi all, Just got a new bike after fattening up for a few years, but would like to know if it's wise to lube all moving parts - ie derailleur joints, shifters, clipless pedals. I already degreased the "glue" off the new chain and used Tri-Flow lube on it. I'm worried I'll be mixing it with any existing lube that came from the factory. Should I also grease the handlebar where it connects ...

Hello I am new to the mountain bike world and just got a 09 specialized hardrock sport disc. The brakes are noisy and the peddals suck. What should be my first upgrade? Brakes or Peddals. I hope this isn't a silly question, but I've been wondering about shoes. I do use Shimano mountain shoes for spinning class. As a total novice who is still working on the "not falling over" skill, I obviously won't be putting clipless pedals on my new bike until at least sometime this summer. I did buy some knickers, a smartwool base shirt, and a thermal jacket and gloves with my bike so I can ...

First of all, great forums here. I've been trolling for a while and I always find helpful information. My dad just got a Fuji Roubaix for his 60th birthday but can't deal with the clipless pedals. He keeps falling off and isn't comfortable clipping in and out. He's looking for some 'normal' (not sure what else to call them) pedals with loops / straps for his feet. I'm looking to spend 50 or ...

Get some foot beds, even some Superfeet insoles are better than stock. The bottom of a cycling shoe is made to be stiff to transmit power. Therefore, it does not conform with your foot as well as a standard shoe. You may be able to get rid of the foot cramp with a properly supported sole of your foot. Worked for me in my Sidis, plus they fit better and I get slightly better power down because...

RaySorian: I fell three times over the past year, 2 tip overs, 1 wreck=broken collarbone. Anyway, during one *near tip over* I was approaching a stop and attempted to clip out but the cleat seemed stuck in the pedal. I was cursing something awful, ended up clipping out with my other foot in time, so practicing that is worthwhile. The cause of the problem was that my cleat had slipped ...
