Do any of you in cold climates feel paralyzed by the weather? ++ It's been bitterly cold lately, and some days the idea of getting all three girls dressed and taking them out in the cold is overwhelming. There's so much to put on them, and then I have to warm up the van just so I can put them in it. They walk so slowly through the parking lots and we all are freezing. I know I'm whining, I...

I've been researching vermicomposting and would love to start doing this, but I do not want it in my kitchen (or my house, really) because apparently fruit flies like it, and I do kombucha all ...

Anyone willing to sun some dipes for me? I'm partly serious - we should arrange some kind of exchange for those of us where there's no sun for months at a time. All of my Smartipants have started to stain - none of my FBs or BGs - so strange.

I just don't understand why kids get things like bikes, roller blades, and skate boards for Christmas if they live in a climate that gets snow. Not as if they are going to enjoy it.

Is there any spd shoes with lots and lots of mesh? As airy and breath-able as possible, to be worn in summer-like climates. Will be wearing it for XC riding with the occasional race and rain/mud, preferably not too heavy on the wallet too!

We plan to leave for warmer (much, hopefully) climates in a few days. The current temps are below freezing and aren't expected to rise much before we leave. I plan on filling the fresh water tanks the morning we leave since it may take 2 days to get to above freezing I"m wondering about traveling with the furnace on to keep the temps in the basement tank area above the freezing mark. ...

Does anyone have any recommendations for figs for cooler Norcal climates? I already know about osborne prolific and desert king, I would love to hear about anyone's success with figs, especially if you're in Sunset zones 16 and 17 around the Bay area and the Central/Northern California coast. Southern Calif. coastal experiences aren't useful because night time temperatures there are so much ...

These are a few paver driveways we've done in the past. Whether it's residential or commercial pavers in colder climates are the way to go. The most used products we use are from Unilock and Lampus Co.
