As the title suggests, I was born with cleft lip and palate. Both of long since been repaired but the scar on my lip is still very noticeable due to the severity of my cleft and I have a somewhat nasal voice (lots of people think I am from New Jersey LOL). Do you guys know if the docs normally test for this, and if so when? I am just wondering because I am on some prescription meds that I had to stay on and some studies showed a very small increase in the chances of this occuring. I go to my normal doctor and a high risk doctor. I've already had my big ultrasound and I go back for another on the heart in a few weeks. I'll love my baby either ...

I had an u/s done just 3 days ago and looked at the ics tonight. Finally got time to really look at them...and in two pictures it looks like she has a cleft lip. Im calling my doc tomorrow and asking them to double check the pics they took... but its kinda worrisome.

Angel we dont have any family history of clefts....in our case it was just one of those things. I hope you get some good news but even if you dont things really arent as bad as they seem. Admittedly its been hard and will only get harder but it isnt a permanent thing and is so easily fixed these days. Try to stay optimistic and the best of luck with ttc xxx

My baby has a heart defect and a blocked esophugus.  I go to get an amnio onMonday to seeif he has downs or chom 17.  They said his kidneys were a bit swollen as well.
