I really like the old design of the leather Chumby, but I feel like I'd be something of a fool to buy one at this point considering that the Chumby One's specs are much better and it's half the price. Are there any plans to create an updated leather chumby?

I installed a new NP120 2 nights ago and while listening to nature songs the Chumby One died and locked. The only way to bring it back was to disconnect the 5V plug for a few seconds. The battery went from fully charged to fully discharged even though the device was powered from the wall supply. The battery eventually charged back up, but it did it again last night, both in the night mode and...

I typically power down my Chumby when I leave for work, but this past weekend, when I was at home for the holiday, I left it on the whole time -- viewing widgets, listening to Pandora, etc. But I noticed some odd alarm behavior as a result. On Thursday and Monday, my "wake up for work" Pandora alarm didn't work, and on Friday it was replaced with a simple beep alarm (lucky thing I was off ...

I just received a Chumby One and getting it configured. Love that it has Pandora on it. If I'm listening to Pandora and move to another widget and then back, get a screen that just calls out "loading" but never completes. Have to power off unit to stop Pandora from playing. Also since page never completes loading, can't see the songs that are playing either. Any advice?

I got my wife a Chumby One and she has been using it a few days and it is working great other than the problem we are having with the AC adapter. It seems like the AC adapter doesn't fit tightly enough into the AC slot. Whenever she picks it up, it turns off and turns back on. Is anyone else having this issue?

Sorry about too many descriptions up there, I want to make sure that if there's a quick easy solution this shows up in the search engines. Installed Squeezebox server on my home Ubuntu Linux server the other evening. Set up the Chumby to stream from it. So far so good. Except that every once in a while, just often enough to be really really annoying, the Chumby stops playing for a second or ...

I've got an iPod clickwheel 80gb (plastic-fronted, pre-"Classic"), which I believe from the Chumby iPod FAQ and the Apple model identification page to be one of the supported models. But so far, my attempts to get my Chumby Classic (hardware 3.7) to recognize it have been futile. The first time I try to scan the ipod DB after a reboot, the chumby says "loading iPod info" for about 2-3 minutes,...

Sorry, should have mentioned: the problem is the same using either the GA or the beta version of the control panel, with the slight difference that the GA version skips directly to the "scanning for ipods" infinite wait without ever displaying the "loading ipod info" screen.

This is probably stated somewhere else, but I cannot seem to find it: Can Chumby open up and display .txt files? (Really I'm interesting in .doc or .xls files, but I would imagine that Chumby doesn't have MS Office built in...) I'm not even particularly interested in being able to edit the text file (though that would also be beneficial, I'm sure), just able to view it.

The Instructables Arduino contest gets a mention in the Wall Street Journal's Taking an Open-Source Approach to Hardware . Open-source hardware applies the same idea to physical things. There are a number of recent open-source hardware initiatives, including the Chumby, a clock-radio sized device that runs software "widgets" to display the weather or stream music, and Bug, a system of ...

Hi, I just received my One today and have been playing with it. So far so good! what I would like to know though is if Chumby can turn to the night mode automatically at certain time? For example, at 10PM, Chumby turns screen mode to night and then at 8AM, turns screen mode to day? Thanks.

I was wondering what kind of security the widgets have -- for example, some of the Google (Mail/Calendar/Picasa) widgets require a private address, while Pandora requires a log-in/password. Are these stored somewhere in Chumbyland, where Chumby employeees/widget developers would be able to view them? Just set my Chumby One up this evening -- it rocks. Just concerned about the security of some...

I have the chumby one. I put the facebook new feed widget on the chumby. When I try to customize it from the website, it asks me to get a code from the facebook website. When I login to the f/b website using the link provided, the F/B website gives an error "Inavlid API Key specified". How do I get this to work?

I would love to see a clock similar to the 12 HR flip clock except with the inclusion of the date underneath (also as flips?). I love the clean black look, but the date is a must-have for me on any clock. Chumby is going to make me learn how to use Flash for myself....

LOL...you basically agreed that the original Chumby was a good price at the time of purchase and voted with your wallet. I'm sure this isn't the first piece of electronics you bought where the price has dropped and the feature set improved over time. As others have said, if this keeps you up at night, sell it on eBay and use the proceeds to buy a Chumby One.
