Arthur Rubinstein - Chopin Nocturne No 3, Op 9 in B Majestic, touching, and amazingly beautiful full of meaning. It still remains my favorite Nocturne by Chopin. Do you have a favorite one?

I've chosen some very select names for 2010. There were many births and even a few anniversary deaths that will be remembered. I haven't listed W.F. Bach born 1710 or Dohnanyi who died in 1960. I thought handling Chopin, Schumann, Albeniz, Mahler, Barber, and William Schuman would be enough. Chopin - I finally came around to Chopin with a Decca double CD called my favorite Chopin with ...

Does anyone know where I might be able to find letters that were written TO Chopin? I've got the ones he wrote, but I see references to letters that he received in biographies, but can't find a source for them anywhere!

I thought on the follow up show last week--"Where Are They Now?"--that Bob extended an invitation to Erik Chopin to return for a weigh in on the finale. I know that Erik has some rather serious diabetes issues so would have thought that this provided the right incentive for him to at least take off some of the weight he had gained. He's so ashamed that he's stopped going to a doctor and now "...

Here I have a version of Chopin's piano concerto in f minor for piano solo. Chopin composed this concerto also to play it as Sonata; the few moments without piano are filled with Chopin's original orchestra-piano-version. (Apart a few special notes I added). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rST5TOKJXjc Anne _________________ Art for art's sake - Gaultier Profile: ...

Chopin's Preludes (complete) Good Morning, I originally had a nice recording of these by Friere and as time went on I have gathered about a dozen more. I love Chopin and I love the Preludes. However, I haven't found a recording yet that really nails this work for me. Often I find that the second prelude is played too fast. I have found ...

We flew Amsterdam to Warsaw Fryderyk Chopin and back. The new terminal in Warsaw Fryderyk Chopin looks poor especially if you compare it with Schiphol. There are not enough toilet cabins (only 3!) for the number of visitors. There were always many people waiting in the line to the toilet. The second problem were restaurants - prices very high and quality of the food was bad. There was also...

hello.. After playing Chopin, I feel as if I had been weeping over sins that I had not committed, and mourning over tragedies there were not my own. Music always seems to me to produce that effect. It creates for one a past of which one has been ignorant, and fills one with a sense of sorrows that have been hidden from ones tears. I can fancy a man who has led a perfectly commonplace life, ...

I'd been getting a bit bored with my recording of Ashkenazy playing Chopin Etudes, so I bought Pollini yesterday, based on your reco in the other thread. Every bit as good as you said!

I have a pretty wide range of musical tastes (my iPhone has everything from Bach, Chopin, Beethoven, and Liszt to Velvet Revolver, Foo Fighters, Clapton, and Goo-Goo Dolls, along with everything in between). I listen to a lot of classical music - I particularly enjoy the piano and violin, so my playlists are heavy with Chopin Nocturnes, Beethoven sonatas, lots of Haydn, etc. My wife happens...
