I've been using my cron'alu 2004 Guru tri bike for road races and ironman events by switching drop-bars and aerobars so if it makes a difference ...

Why not go for a custom bike? http://www.ifbikes.com/ A rider in upstate NY had to get a new fork for his bike, and he got one from Wound-Up Composites.
