A week in Chianti... After spending one week in Florence we intend on spending one week in Chianti. Our interests are in seeing the medieval towns in Central Tuscany, such as Siena, San Gimignano, Monteriggioni and Montalcino. We would like to base ourselves in either...

There was a heavy fall of snow during the night and this now blankets much of the Chianti Classico zone. There was almost no wind so great gobs of snow are balanced on every tree in the place. Some of the olive trees look like cone-shaped snowmen. All of this under a clear blue sky. The latter suggests the temperature might drop tomorrow. Let's hope the snow doesn't turn to ice on the ...

We are a group of 10 that could possibly grow to 14, and we are interested in small winery tours and sightseeing for a week in the Chianti Classico region. We are planning on staying outside of Greve. The problem is that most tours and drivers are set up for 8 or less. Ideally we would like to hire a driver for the entire week, since we plan going somewhere almost every day....

Askaneli Brothers "Askaneli" Saperavi 2007 - dry red wine from Kvareli in eastern Georgia; 100% Saperavi; 13,5% abv; 10,04€ We haven't seen many Saperavis or other Georgian wines, but the few unspoofulated ones that I have tried have been very enjoyable wines in a rustic style. This Askaneli gladly doesn't use new oak, but neither is it very rustic. This is a wine with much dark fruit, quite...

I am asking for help in finding accommodation - hotel or apartment- in Northern Italy. This does seem widespread but we are attending a wedding in Greve in Chianti the middle of June (spending a week in an apartment there) and we have 9 days before we fly home from MILAN to fill in. We would like to stay all of this time in one place and relax, swim, walk, as this is the end of our 10...

QUESTION: I have a old bottle of 1962 vintage CHIANTI CETTI in a 1 gallon tall dark green glass container. It has been stored in a cool dry place and looks to be in pretty good condition. Whats this worth i live in Kentucky. ANSWER: Hi Rick, I'm sorry but there is no possibility of any Chianti from 1962 still being drinkable - so it would be impossible to sell lawfully and it has no value....

Wine recommendations: ROP I want to buy my boss a nice bottle of wine, but I don't want to spend more than 40 bucks. Last year I picked up for him a bottle of Ruffino Chianti, which is about 35 dollars... is there anything else that's really good... Thanks Ladies

We're heading to Italy next week - three days in Florence followed by five days in Rome. My wife wants to experiece Tuscany , mostly scenery and food and wine. I'm thinking a day trip on Dec. 31st with a stop in Chianti and then heading to Siena . 1. Do you think this is doable? 2. Should I rent a car and drive or hire a guide? 3. If a guide is the answer (and ...

Portofino (on the riviera) Chianti - on a vineyard or Taormina? I know Portofino is beautiful, was just there. Haven't been to Chianti or Taormina in a while.

We are having a family Xmas eve meal consisting of Italian food all the way. Lasagna, Eggplant, etc. Nice deep Calabrese meats and red sauces. I am going to serve an Italian wine(s) and typically will serve a chianti but have been considering either some Super Tuscan, Rosso d Montalcino, a Ripasso or even an Amarone. However, I don't have experience with Amorone's (ok, Italian and don't ...
