so my dad drives an 03 chevy impala with just under 120K miles on it. lately when hes been driving it (and i tested it too, so it IS happening), mostly when he is taking off from a stop, the car will be in drive (automatic), but when you go to accelerate, the rpms will build up, then it will catch, and jerk, kinda like if you release the clutch to fast in a manual. does anybody know what this ...

Two choices. Mid level (large) family sedan. Chevy Impala LT - 3.5L V6 FWD. 211hp. Better MPG. More airbags. Dodge Charger SXT - 3.5L V6 RWD. 250hp. Cool looks. Some Benz guts. If you can only choose these two, which would you choose and why?

Equipped with 195 HP 283 2-barrel with 2 speed Powerglide, Am radio - works, tinted winshield, no power steering or brakes. 85,000 actual miles. Starts, runs, stops but I am including new rear brakes and a rebuilt dual outlet Master Cylinder. Wheels are 15x7 Ansen Sprints with roller tires that hold air. Needs exhaust work. Pretty...

I think the Charger's interior is REALLY low rent. the Impala is no Caddy, but it's better. I really don't like the super high belt line of the charger, either. but the Impala only has more airbags if it isn't an ex-rental...

Take the Impala to a good tranny shop (ask around to find out who does good work). Have the tranny rebuilt. The Impala is not a great car, but outside of needing head gaskets every 150,000 miles or so (or intake gaskets if it's a 3.4 car instead of a 3.8 car) they're really not bad (I'd rank them behind the Fusion and Avenger within it's own segment, but ahead of Camry and Accord.) ...

as mentioned earlier, i would go with two twelves....2 12's in the right box, will def outperform 2 15's in the wrong box.....another option would be selling 1 15 and just running the other.

Dundee Denny.........just spent the last 30 minutes on the two sites you recommended. Great sites. Believe you are right on with the per price arguement. Yep, the hunt and serendipity is part of it....especially when you make "tha" find! I have looked at a lot of railroad "stuff" as well. Thanks again

The 2006 Impala was not available with the 3.4L V6. I assume you are referring to the 3.5L V6. My 2006 LT did this as well. No heat at idle and the smell of coolant. The water pump had a leak and needed to be replaced. After the dealer replaced the water pump and refilled the coolant, the system behaved normally. You may want to have a pressure check done on the cooling system to ...
