( I have recently started helping my sister with a young chess club. It seems that all they do is use there queen. I am thinking after the new year, I will take there queen away and have them try to play without. I would love to hear from anybody who thinks this is good or bad, or maybe something you would try? ,)

And we know what good thinkers chess players are. Maybe you should have a picture of the statue, "the thnker", or a picture of Albert Einstein, then we wouldn't have to question your posts. Then we'd just know...

I am and I have an opening theory question. The higher the rating the better. The questions is this: If I play the Queens Gambit Declined Albin Countergambit Fianchetto Variation and end up with the following 1. d4 d5 2. c4 e5 3. dxe5 d4 4. Nf3 Nc6 5. g3 is it reasonable to play Bf5 instead of the text move Be6? Black should have a decisive advantage after 5...Bf5 6. Bg2 Nb4 7...

I get bored chasing their queen around until I trap it and they resign. I'd much rather lose a game than win these kinds of games. ,)

POOR CHESS PLAYERS.... If it seemed as if the vast majority of Senate Democrats were acting with a stronger-than-expected commitment to getting health care done this year, it wasn't an accident. Faced with Republican resistance that many Democrats saw as driven more by politics than policy disagreements, Senate Democrats in recent days gained new determination to bridge differences ...

The GOP are master chess players in comparison to the Dems. Think about it this way. Do you really think Olympia Snowe and the other couple of GOP members who made a show of negotiating in good faith really ever had any intention of voting for any Dem sponsored health care bill? I really doubt it. More than likely they were coached by the GOP to make a show of negotiating in order to ...
