I'm considering getting my hair chemically straightened, and was wondering if anyone had any advice or personal experience with this? My hair is naturally straight, but I got a perm over a year 1/2 ago and my hair has been crazy poofy/wavy ever since! I'm tired of blow drying/straightening EVERY MORNING! I want this over with. Do you think this is the right option for me? ...

I'm trying to figure this out in order to ballpark a maximum yield for an nBSG battlestar's guns. I read on the Battlestar Galactica wiki that evidence points to the guns being chemically propelled. On the Wikipedia page for railguns, it says that railguns are superior to traditional chemical-propelled weapons because laws of gas expansion limit the latter's speed...

Catalysts are very useful because they reduce the amount of energy needed to make chemicals react and speed up the process of combining and rearranging organic molecules into new compounds. Catalysts are also economical: they are chemically unchanged by the reactions they accelerate and may be used repeatedly. Aluminium choride is used as a catalyst in organic chemical reactions to attach two ...

I've been growing out my chemically colored and damaged hair since last November, and faithfully trimming the ends every month. Only problem is, my beloved 2c/3a spirals are growing out a flat 2a/b at best. Once upon a time I would probably have been ecstatic about his development, but now that I've truly fallen in love with my curls, I feel quite sad. I have actually noticed this phenomenon ...

"Officers think they know the general area where it is, and they say they will "chemically immobilize" it when they find it." Isn't Staypuff already chemically immobilized on the weekends?

Here's my dilemma. I had posted previously that my ends are a dark red color from many layers of BAQ henna (mostly Jamila 2008 and Punjabi Prime) over chemically dyed hair. My natural color is medium to dark brown, I prefer to be a bit lighter, so as per the recommendation of a hairstylist on the board, I did my roots a couple weeks ago with a chemical dye to try & lift them a bit before putting ...

Hello all! I really did spend quite a bit of time trying different search combos to answer my questions, but I couldn't find anything other than suggestions to do such and not specifics. I currently chemically dye my hair a dark red. And while I love the color results I get, I can't force myself to redo the chemical dye more often than the 2 months or so that I do already. I've seen it ...

I've just met my goal length, and I'm not sure what I want to do now. I'm torn between maintaining until I grow out the last of the chemically treated hair and am all virgin again, or continuing to grow until it feels "too long" and cutting back to something I like. I also must confess to a curiosity about my own "terminal length." I think I'd like to see how long that is. Maybe I'll just review ...
