Hey all. I have an interesting question: I am making a very low budget piece of electronic equipment for mass production. We have circuits on two separate boards and it occurred to us that we could save big $$$ by sending Vcc (5VDC) to the second board from the first ***through the chassis*** (saving us a difficult wiring job). Whats the reason for resistors from signal to chassis-ground?

Can anyone explain why there are resistors from the input directly to the chassis? I'm talking about the resistors directly from the RCA jack to the ground/chassis. Usually they are about 10uF, but much lower on the turntable inputs (which makes sense because of the lower output)... I'm assuming they help isolate any static or humming that may be found on the chassis....... yes?

Chassis Ground for Amp Hookup?

Hi folk, I'm installing a 300 watt amp to power my Alpine Type-S 6.5 inch speakers. I've mounted the amp under the passenger side dash with my power hooked up to the battery and the ground hooked up to a screw/bolt combo to the left and above the battery. as I'm getting my harness in, some ground lines ask to go to engine ground (speedo sender (autometer hall effect type), few other things) and other items just say to ground or chassis ground.
