I am about to add a piece of mopani driftwood into my tank, and although I have boiled/soaked it, I am expecting to have a lot of tannins to remove. I also know that activated charcoal will remove them. However, it is far too expensive for me to be adding entirely new filters cartidges to the filter. The only other filter I see in the air-box other then the filter itself is the one attached to the air-box cover. So I guess thats the charcoal one? If so can anyone tell me how to remove it. It appears to be part of that top cover and not removable. Also the reason to remove it is so more air can travel to the engine? Thanks for the help. Will this get any gains?

Charcoal canister question Hey, was wondering if anybody had ever deleted their charcoal canister and vacuum lines of their 3s with any ill side effects (bad gasoline vapor smells inside the car and what not). Any noticeable new smells or anything? __________________ 1995 3000gt ...

Hello friends. I've scoured the posts and still can't determine exactly where the charcoal cannister is for fuel vapors. I started getting strong fuel smell in the car and all lines look good. Suspecting cannister but can't find it under the hood. Can you help? Thanks, Doug

Well, I had an ongoing problem with a small evap leak. So with state inspection coming up I figured it was time to get the damn thing fixed while I was away. I brought her to the shop and told them what I had checked and what the code was. The shop is one that Ive been going to for years with all of my vehicles and even my families. Well he assured me that it would be fixed when I returned home 5...
