I got carried away with cleaning 10yr.-old ceramic tile on our kitchen floor and used the scratch pad side of sponge to clean it down to the original stone. Bad decision! The floor no longer has the subtle shine it had and my wife is very upset. I used a stone sealer after I cleaned the tiles but it had no effect. The tiles were actually matte-finish when we bought them, but they did have a ...

I was shopping at Lowes today and noticed their black friday special of 58 cents 12" ceramic tile. Regularly 78 cents. Anyone use this stuff before? what do you thin of it? I looked at some other ceramic tiles and thought the stuff looked nice, but i am a novice and I'm doing my first tile job so comments on what kinds of tiles are best and what to look out for would be appreciated.

Our house has no carpet- it is ALL ceramic tile. It's a rental house so I guess they decided that'd be easier. I've always used the Swiffer Wet Jet for mopping because I've usually only had small amount of linoleum to clean (kitchen and bathroom) at prior apartments. I've been using it at the house but it doesn't seem too effective. It leave this kind of...film I guess is the best way to ...

Anyone have a place they recommend for ceramic tile selection/supplies? I'm about to tackle the master bathroom floor and shower and I've looked at Lowes and Home Depot, but I'm sure they're other places that might have more selection better prices. Any recommendations for the material on the shower floor? Tile, stone, other?

Looking to buy some decent/ok tile. I'd prefer more but if you've got something that I might be able to make complimentary to mine, i'd definately be interested. PM/Call me at 651-231-0863 (Cell) if you have any left over from a project or something like that! Thanks! Preferrably 12x12, but if you've got 18x18 i'd be interested also depending on variables. Btw, I'm not looking for ...

I have a client who wants to install carpet tile over existing ceramic tile. Me personally I would demo the tile, and grind up the floors smooth. But the client wants to instal the carpet tile over it, and not sure how the carpet tile glue will adhere to a ceramic surface. Anyone crazy out there that did this before? BTW - Demo is not an option.

What's a good place to get some ceramic tile? I'll be redoing my bathroom (shower, backsplash and floors) and kitchen backsplash tile, etc. Looking for a place with lots of selection. Not like the crap you pick through at revy or home depot where there's 5 selections you might like. Found Apex tile ...

i currently have white ceramic tile & a very lite off white carpet in my l/r & d/r ++ tile is on entry way & leads to other parts of the house, carpeting is only in the l/r & d/r. my question: would it look weird to replace the carpet with hardwood, in those places only, obvioulsy leaving the tile throughout the rest of the house.

After grouting the tile and going over it with a damp sponge I left it to dry. Now the tile feels slightly sticky when standing on it. I don't see any "haze" but maybe thats because of the color of the tile. Any idea what is going on and what to do about it? Thanks in advance!

Hey guys, I need some advice here. I want to make sure this is done exactly right! I am re-doing the walls in my shower with ceramic tile. First, I tore down the old tile tub surround down to the studs. I am going to keep my existing ceramic tub from 1985 because it's in great shape. I bought backerboard to re-do the walls with but am not putting it up until I can get this question answered. Now ...

Bull nosing with profile wheel on wet saw Just realized that the bull nosing the top of my shower knee wall would look so much better with a bull nose of the exact size---am using 1/4 in ceramic tile. Does it make any difference whether I use a 3/8 or 1/2 profiler wheel on this tile?? Thanks for the help.

ok, i am having a couple people who owe me money apply glazed ceramic tile (12x12x5/16in) in my kitchen with of course my help and i did some research on the net. My question is my floors under the vinyl are plywood so i think (from research last night) that I can pull the vinyl then apply thinset with a latex additive in it right on the plywood and then apply Ditra and then apply tiles with ...

I am tiling a small bathroom 8x10. Can someone point me to the minimum requirements for the sub floor? It will be ceramic tile over either ditra or 1/4 backer board but I want to make sure I have a good subfloor to start with. Its a 2nd floor bath in a split level so I have no access to see the fllor joist spacing and size. Thanks
In the bathroom I am covering boxing in plumbing pipes with wood and I need to lay wood piece over the pipes and so affix a ledge to the ceramic wall tiles for the wood piece to lay on. Can I glue a ledge to ceramic wall tile and what sort of glue would do the job ? (as it is it would be very difficult to drill holes in the tiles to fix a ledge with pipes in the way)

Well I learned something new from the video. I had no idea you could put a pyramid on top of pryamid. Been a few times where the strap would not catch and I just had to let it go. D'oh! __________________ Ed "If you have time to do it twice, you have time to do it right once." "Well cover me in Ditra, and call me an ...
