I recently heard that when your child is 18 months old you receive $300 approx from centrelink for the immunisations - is this true?. My other question is, when we get the extra money at tax time from centrelink (600+ per child), what is the additional $300+ for? Is that for single income earners or does everyone get it if you receive FTB?.

Hi everybody! Just trying to budget before baby comes, and was just wondering roughly how much I could expect from Centrelink? I know everybodys situation is different, but just need a rough estimate, as i'm not understanding the website very well. We will be going down to one wage of under $50k/year. Thanks sooo much!

I had a debt that came up that involved about 4 years of incorrect information from when DH was only earning casual income and the kids were really little. They hadn't put in my information correctly so they were paying me at a higher rate and I didn't know about it, it was a long time ago! Anyway at some point I got into doing everything online and that was fine, but then along comes a ...

Hope someone can help me out here. How do you make your baby bonus and FTB claim after the baby is born? Is it possible to make it online or on the phone? Do I need to go in person to centrelink to make the claim or show documentation? Do you need to show a birth certificate for the newborn baby? I left Aus immediately after my first bub was born, so don't know how it's done. Another question...

Pensioner and Health Cards entitle you to an array of discounts, not just for Health Care. However, it's very difficult to know what discounts are available and info on the Centrelink website is limited. To help all our parents out there who have these cards, lets keep a thread here of all the discounts that apply.

I get $495 a f/n from Centrelink. $300 of that goes to groceries (sometimes a bit less depending on what we need) $65 on Hayley's speech pathologist, $30 on occasional care for Nathan and Skye, $7 a week for Hayley's calisthenics and I put $5 each away for me and the kids (sometimes a bit more for me depending on bills and all that). We both pay bills and Hayley's kinder fees each term. On Monday...

Centrelink have designated officers to help people with different circumstances to the normal Joe citizen. Major cities and towns in Oz have centrelink social officers that attend drop in centres and even food vans and kitchens to help people with extra ordinary circumstances. Not having an address is not a problem if you can provide a mailing address where you can receive centrelink mail ...
