What do you think the smallest legal deer caliber should be? Do you think a 22 centerfire is ethical or not? If not, what would be the smallest legal caliber you would suggest?

I am looking at the 2010 calender for APTS and the question of the centerfire tac prec rifle matches has come up. I cancelled these for the remainder of 2009 due to dwindling attendance in the months prior to my wife's surgery in June. Before I bring them back I want to see if there is truly an interest and for what weekend. I can only have the match on Sunday mornings due to the prep ...

OK folks, lets discuss this one out. I want to hear your opinions about centerfire bolt actions. Specifically the entry-level, $400 or less ($350 or less even better) class rifles. Who makes the best one? Savage(Stevens), Mossberg, Marlin, Remington? someone else? Howa perhaps? Why is it the best? There you go, What say you? Tyger

Centerfire folder for sale I had the idea for a new blade opening purchase other than a hole or a thumbstud. After a couple tests I was ready to put it on a blade and this is what I came up with. It reminds me of the end of a centerfire bullet cartridge. This is a prototype. The blade is 4in long, 1in wide and .125 thick made of CPM154....

Guys, I just got my centerfire kit from Central Auto Parts, Ryan Roth, yesterday. Now I've only put 1 measly little magazine through it, just to see how it'd do, but I gotta tell you, I'm pretty sure I made a good call here. The .22 setup performs flawlessly on my 229, very very seldom a problem of any kind, and this .40 kit shoots like a dream. 9s and 10s are easy at 10 yds. I don't know what...

Looked on the Remington website, and in their catalogue. They have gobs of info for centerfire rifle, but no info for ballistics for the 12 guage copper solid sabots. They have yardage up to 100 on the package (sighted in at 50 yards, and something like a 2.5 inch drop at 100 yards), but I'm wondering what the drop is for shots that are longer. Does this mean we shouldn't be shooting over 100 ...

I'm putting together a project bow. A PSE Xcellerator with either a Centerfire or Ultimate cam. I've found the string/cable specs for both cams. But nothing on weather the cam(s) uses a 3 or a 4 inch idler. Any idea where to get one? Ebay has cool 4" idlers but the guy wants 60 bucks for one,and the pickin's are none in the AT classifieds. Help.

Do you use bore snakes to clean your barrels after going to the range? Do you wash them? If so, how? How long are they lasting for you -- how many times do you use them before you replace them (say for 22lr vs centerfire using range quality like CCI, WWB)?

I like the saiga; cheaper than all the rest, comes with a 10 round mag. 16 inch bbl, for heavy woods walking- what's not to love? And yes, right now the converted saiga by K-var has got to be, hands down, the best deal going in rifles. Just nothing else can compare to the handiness, weight, ease of care, accuracy and durability; that's right I threw in accuracy in there.
