It had previously been cavity filled a few years before. i have heard from neighbours that since this was done there had been problems with damp. However due to the extent of the damp the whole outside wall was hacked off allowed to dry out and completly re rending, also the inside of the wall was hacked off and re plastered. now 1 ...

Hi, Few months back one of my molar broke one of its 4 peaks. The dentist made a large hole and used a die (as in die-cast) to fill a large portion of cavity, giving it shape of the teeth. Recently I filled my mouth with air for blowing into a balloon, instead the air passed through my teeth cavity and was collected below my ear !!! Like a sap in skin This sounds as horrific as ...

HI We are generating leads from people in Northern Ireland looking for cavity wall or loft insulation work on a daily basis, but do not currently have a company to supply these to. We only supply one company in each postcode area, so it is first come first served. Leads are web-generated and not by a call centre, therefore conversion rates around 70-80%. If you're interested in ...

I'm considering cavity wall insulation and have tried researching the various options and potential risks. My home is a conventional 3-bed semi with a converted attic (attic only is Kingspan insulated) and the house is of cavity block construction. It was built in 1997. There seems to be pro's and cons with both foam and bead insulations. My biggest worry is either system causing us problems...

Hi, I am building a cavity block construction with a 150mm cavity, I plan on pumping in bonded bead insulation. I am wondering if anyone has used the insulated cavity closers such as those sold by Xtratherm to close the cavity. Are they worth the money and if I use these to I still return the block? Thanks for your help.

HI, I have seen on boards before that the insulated slab should not be bigger than the cavity insulation. I have also seen that the insulated slab should only be half of the cavity insulation. Any thougths?

What type of irons do you guys use? Blades, cavity backs etc... and what handicaps are you? I'm playing the Nike SQ irons at the moment (cavity back), they're pretty good and very forgiving. I'm a 14 handicap. I'd love to invest in a set of blades (the new Nike Victory Reds look great!) but I don't think they'll be too much use to me unless I get to single figures.

My 4yr old daughter has spent this last week in pain, her back molar definitely has a cavity and now there is this blister like thing on the gum portion, right next to her tooth which is decaying. She doesn't chew on that side and has spent nights crying Colic and crying Crying in infancy in pain. I feel so horrible but her Dentist is quite booked until after the holidays ...

Had a builder come around last week to quote for replacing the wall ties of our property. We had discussed various other bits and pieces and I mentioned CWI and he had nothing positive to say about it, mentioning the bridging of the cavity and damp travelling to the inside wall through the insulation etc. A CWI salesman mentioned 'Mark' who they use, use a product which doesn't allow this to...

I changed the sparkplugs and I saw that the second cavity had a brown colour compared to the clean aluminium shade of the other 4 cavities. By checking the old sparkplugs I couldn't make out any difference in appearance. All of them looked the same, dry, a light brownish deposit but just a thin layer. To me they looked ok. I was just wondering where the brown deposit in the cavity comes from. Any...

I don't know if any of you live in or are familiar with Glasgow Tenement properties but I live in one and this thought came to me recently because of something that happened . My upstairs neighbour some months ago got her window frames pointed because of issues with rain ingress coming from one particular window (during heavy rain combined with high winds from one direction) which found ...

( Been posting alot lately. Just very frusterated but comforted some on this site. I have read tons of posts and have not yet to come across anyone that has heard of a parasite in the face . I am beginning to wonder if it is unheard of to have a parasite/snake that lives in your face- Sinus cavity/in front of ear. Eating away at my soft tissue. I am now become aware that unless there...

Yes, having DCs weakens your teeth. It also thickens the cornea, so you may have noticed your visioned worsened, although, it may have the opposite effect in others. I received 4 cavities after my DCs and my vision worsened by 2x.

We just recently moved into a house which we plan to remodel from top to bottom, and step one is to create some storage space. In our previous home I managed to create a fair bit of storage by setting up some shelving across the trusses, and it worked well, particuarly as I was able to put some pretty heavy stuff up there confident in the knowledge that there were walls beneath that gave some ...
