Cathay Pacific pilots I'm trying to contact Ted Ball and Nigel Demery, both known to have been flying with Cathay a few years ago, and probably still there. The reason is a Bristol UAS reunion in London in March 2010. If anyone is able to help, please PM me. Thanks, KP

I recently used visited MAA via Cathay Pacific from Sydney and left for Sydney on Thai. The airport still has the staid look on it, though the number of immigration counters seems to have increased. The luggage took a while to arrive. On the return leg, the immigration and the security were a breeze; however, the allocation of gates and the announcements leave a lot to be desired. The food...

I am 6ft with a fairly athletic build. I recently flew Cathay long haul to Europe from Australia for a business trip. My past experiences with Cathay have always been most favourable. The staff were helpful and courteous, the flight pleasant, the lounge and amenities most accessible and welcoming. Moreover the seats, although a little old, were quite comfortable.... as far as economy ...

LHR-HKG-MEL return Business Class. I haven't flow Cathay for many years now and there is a difference, things have declined - CX used to be the best around but not anymore. Outbound to HKG, easy check-in and a nice lounge at LHR. Service on board was OK but the 45 degree angle seats take some getting used to, although I did sleep well enough. AVOD system has a good selection of movies and...

I N T R O D U C T I O N Cathay Pacific and Dragonair are natural partners. Cathay Pacific part-owned and managed Dragonair between 1990 and 1996 before its current ownership structure came into effect. Economic and aviation circumstances have since changed dramatically, particularly in Mainland China, and so too has the world in which Cathay Pacific, Dragonair, and Hong Kong ...

SIN-BKK-HKG. Service amongst cabin attendants rather inconsistent both ways, even on my way back (HKG-SIN). Some didn't bother to acknowledge you while speaking to them, while others were really considerate. Seat wise, no complains, only if CX could implement foot rest like SQ would be better. Food and beverage pretty average.

I would advise that if you can snag another Job for now then go with it for sure. You have nothing to lose by accepting the job whereas you might "lose out" on that job in the event that you don't make it through the interview selection to cadet training. As always in aviation have a plan B I'm currently 4weeks down, 4 to go to the 8week threshold since application.

Cathay fails to block payout to '49ers' 16 December 2009 South China Morning Post Cathay Pacific has failed to stop a judgment ordering it to pay more than HK$61 million to eighteen of the "49ers" - the pilots sacked en masse during an industrial dispute in 2001 - despite the airline having an appeal under way. The 18 won the compensation and damages last month for unfair ...

When I flew the new CX economy for the first time, I didn't know the padding was thin but I felt it after a few hours. Actually, I think the thin padding was more for my bottom than my back. But again, we all have different builds and preferences as to what's comfortable. Therefore, I wouldn't say OP's assessment are off the mark, but the majority of us are happy with the change.

I was just in touch with Cathay and managed to book the side bulkhead, bassinet seats for our return trip (it wasn't available on the outgoing trip, so I had to book the centre bulkhead, bassinet seats). I checked the itinerary and the aircraft for those flights is the Airbus 330 where there are four side bulkhead, bassinet seats in one section of the plane (guess it differs from plane to plane...
