Recs: 0 Riley wants a long term capital gain Since Riley wants a long term capital gain the sale won't be consummated until Q1 or Q2 of 2009. That's good, since this provides a longer timeframe for buyers with competing bids to step forward. I think it will work out well in the end, so I'm buying more while it's still under $18. There's a good chance at least 1 or 2 ...

Obama has suggested he wants it up to 25 or even 28%-- while McCain has suggested an increase to 20% (currently 15%)--- (These rates may have changed, but I doubt) Am I the only one who REALLY sees this ...

I am extremely new at "all this" and need advise. I want to open a Roth ira and buy an s&p 500 index fund from Vanguard. When filling out their online form I get to the part where it asks me if I want to go the capital gains route or the dividend route. I have read what the definition of each is, but honestly don't know how to procede. What say you?

Hi all Just having second thoughts about a sale. We have 1 IP - a unit that was purchased for $185K in 2001 which is now valued at $350K. It can be rented out for $300 if we want to at the end of the current lease in a couple of months. Problem is it is heavily mortgaged and we are only just scraping by to keep it going as the rent is currently $220pw and putting in more than $10,000 of ...

My wife and I got married 2 years ago. Each of us owns a condo. She moved in to my condo and just use her condo to store her belongings. We will move to another country at the end of the year and we are planning to sell both condos. My friend told me that I will have to pay capital gain tax on one of the condos. He suggested that I do a cash out refinance on one of the condos and rent it ...

Recs: 1 Re: Riley wants a long term capital gain He started his "friendly liquidation" of Alliance in 2006 and is closing it down as we speak. So that's quite possible-----and with the warrants to cover long from expiration, they have time to keep it down before they cover. I think there's a very good chance of a Riley/Miller/Horizon Offshore type deal here- take it ...

All this talk of a Bank crash does make you think of gold, but all companies take the money fast, and sometimes it's like pulling teeth, to get it back. Any personal experiences? Read that Sovereigns allow £10,000 capital gain if they go up.(Need Luck) On a personal note, if Jeremy Clarkson is reading by chance, had some money with AIG who paid out on 6 month GIBond,OK. But I was frightened!!!!...

If you are buying stocks today you might be classified as nuts, but think of the potential profit, capital gain, you can make over the next several years. Remember 1987 or was it 88 when the maket fell drastically and has until recently re gained all the loss and then some. Be careful to invest in those stocks you feel safe with investing but do it, if enough capitalists are investing the ...
