what is the acceptable leakage for a electrolytic capacitor as used as reservoir or smoothing on a HT rail of around 250V? I have hooked up my re-former to the can electrlytic of my project chassis. I am doing the first section & I am curious to know what is good enough to be OK if energised & facing the full HT load. My Capacitor re-former is simply a HT transformer. the 250-0-250 ...

sub/amp capacitor question Hello people Now I heard of capacitors but not really sure when and why you would need them I just installed a 10W7 with the G-Max amp and I was wondering if I need a capacitor now I noticed when I have it a little loud my whole dash dims out a little (nothing too crazy but it dims) also the Voltage gauge in my car is always...

Installing a capacitor for the head unit?? Hey guys, I was talking so someone on a car audio chat and he said to install a 15pf ceramic capacitor as close to the head unit as possible. He said it cleans out the power going to the head unit and can clean up any electrical noise that may go through the head unit... I have not ...

Capacitor questions for high voltage / AC Hello all, Is there a general concensus on which type of capacitors (modern) are most suitable for mains applications but low current? (100nF - 330nF) My expsrinece has shown that X2 is no good. They go short circuit eventually. I think they are not that suitable for low ...

Has anyone ever heard of them? I was looking into some documentation about Low-ESR capacitors and one of their engineers had a pretty good article on it. Anyone have any experience or know of these capacitors to know if they're good in audio products?

You guys have been able to help on most everything else, so lets give capacitors a try. This is a comb filter form a Panasonic VCR I need to fix. The part as a whole is no longer avaiable and I have heard the capacitors are what fail. Could anyone identify the silver SMD caps so I can get some others to replace them? As usual, any help would be appreciated.

So you fancy a challenge, what about totally stripping an HMV442? Where do you start? well a circuit diagram is a must, make sure it is the correct one. There are different capacitor blocks, take loads of pictures and make drawings. As my old Service Manager said to me "if you don't make drawings and you get killed over the weekend, someone is going to have a hell of a job putting it back ...

External Hard disk not detected Hello frnds by mistake i had plugged 19v laptop adapter instead of 12v adapter to my seagate freeagent 1TB.. Now my hard disk is not switching on. Will it can be repaired and data be recovered once i opened it i found a capacitor sort of thing little burnt up..so i removed the 3.5" harddisk and ...

ok i had a pair of HIDgate 6k HIDS, now that kit came with the capacitor or "anti flicker cap" they worked great but were to blue for me so i removed them for stock bulbs again. now i wanna go back to hids but i am thinking of getting a 4300k kit this time for less blue look. i see alot of kits around now that dont mention the capacitor but offer a digital ballast. do these new digital ballasts ...

Hi there, I'm upgrading my stock sound system in my bmw e30 to premium and I'm not sure if I've been sent the correct tweeters. The right tweeter has a capacitor built in while the left doesn't. Anyone know if thats normal, or have i got tweeters for two different cars? The pics below show the right tweeter (white) and left tweeter (orange).

Hello Everyone.. I had the AAC HID 6000k headlights and fogs installed in my 06 SRT8. I used the included harness with capacitor. The problem is this...The headlight HID's seem to pulse and flicker. I drove close to a 100 miles yesterday and they started flickering within the first mile then completely stopped for the other 99 highway miles. It almost seems they start flickering at low ...
