I have a set of chrome moly 6 ball & cage inner/outer joints and 300m axles etc built to handle over 600bhp at the wheels!! I have just checked the angle of the axles and they are around 6 degrees uppermost at the wheel, I was sort of hoping the angle was less, anyone have any tips on cv joint angulation, the inner cv joint will hit the top suspension arm if I raise the diff so I am stuck ...

I have a 2004 330XI requiring new front half-shafts. Ran across this page in my search. http://www.theautopartsshop.com/Sear...nd+PartDeta ils Prices look extremely low based on what I've seen elsewhere (a rebuilt costs $300/side through local shops). Anyone use these parts or similar parts from Cardone? Thanks!!

I installed a set of NEW, not rebuilt axles about a month ago. The week before Christmas, the driver CV joint blew out leaving me stranded in the snowstorm we had here on the east coast. At the time, we changed out both axles though only the passenger side required it. Driver side was still good, but since the car has about 270,000 miles on it and I do 1000 miles a week, we thought it ...

Hi guys, and happy new year to you all. My leon has developed a droning/groaning/rumbling noise, which is progressively getting worse. It sounds like its coming from the n/s/f corner, but im not sure how to determine whether its the bearing or the CV joint. If its CV, i would have thought the noise would get worse on accelleration, and bearing would get worse while under breaking, or ...

i have an 05 Accord 4cyl auto. 124K miles Noticed a noise from the driver's sidefront end-sounds like it is coming from a cv joint--firrst appeared when temps outside started getting colder. You hear it on take off from a stop up till about 5-10 mph Is worse when trying to make a left hand turn and accelerating from a stop. Are the CV joints greasable, or is it replacement time?...

Are there any C5ers, here, who have had the a rear axle CV joint fail due to high-mileage wear or the grease "drying out"? How many here have repacked or "rebuilt" the CV joints in their axle shafts?

I just noticed that I have torn the cv joint boot on the front right of my 07 Mule. No dirt or debris in the grease so it must have just happened. Will this be a "take to the shop" or can a basic handy man handle this with some help from you guys. Thanks in advance for any tips. Tony

I need to find cv joints with a 28mm spline on them.I keep getting cv's and they are measuring out to be 26mm. I heard that autozone/advance are notorious for giving wrong parts, anyone know where to get the proper cv's. thanks cory

Corvette CV Joint Boots Though they may not seem like much your C5 or C6 CorvetteÂ’s Inner & Outer CV Joint Boots play a key role in keeping your Corvette on the road. They are prone to cracking or splitting, which can have multiple negative effects on the drive-ability of your Corvette. Besides allowing contamination into the CV joint itself and causing premature wear of the ...

An easy way to detect a Wheel bearing instead of CV, take car on a decent run, pull up then remove the wheelnut covers, this'll expose the splined castle nut end of the driveshaft, Droning bearings usually causes excessive heat buildup, you'll notice a temp difference of the driveshaft in comparison to the other side, Doesnt always work, depends on how far gone the wheel bearings ...

Well, another 500 miles behind me and the old axle with the new bolts is hanging in there. No issues. Haven't had any issues with the new part on the passenger side. I'm wondering if that's a matter of time. Keeping an eye out for a factory piece to have in reserve Can't figure out though why the old bolts, all of them, worked themselves out...
