I was another victim of the GPU solder cracking with the T41p laptop. I just got my motherboard back from GPU medics and everything appears to be working! I am now running into a problem with reinstallation of the CPU fan assembly. I am using 3 M2x10mm screws to attach the fan assembly to the motherboard/CPU as indicated by the ThinkPad Computer Hardware Maintenance Manual. However, these ...

I have an iMac model identifier iMac5,1 with an Intel Core 2 Duo. Over a year ago the hard drive failed so I purchased a new model. Recently I decided to replace the hard drive on my other iMac and upgrade the ram. In doing so installed iStats and discovered the CPU fan is not running. This was probably the reason the original hard drive failed. I purchased a new fan, but unfortunately the ...

Ok so I have a Red Scorpion sink which has a Scythe Ninja fan and P180 case. People have been telling me that the Noctuas are the business for silent cooling. As such what Im looking for is really quiet case fans and perhaps the same fan to be slapped onto the sink itself as well. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated! (120mm fans please btw!)

Hi, A friends CPU FAN has stopped working properly. So we bought a new one to change it. It's a socket AM2. Anyway I was wondering for people's advice here. Any tips that could help. Should be simple enough. Do I need the tube of thermal paste? Is it necessary? I saw that under the heatsink of the new fan, there is a square piece that looks like blue-tack. Must be thermal paste. So ...

http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...178&CatId=4 749 Just wondering if this will be a decent cpu fan and if i'll be able to overclock my i5 with it? I'm not going to push the envelope by any means but i'd like to get a little more out of it. Will this one provide adequate cooling? Thanks

I have an error message that advised my interior CPU fan has failed. Before I take my computer apart: Is this a relatively easy thing to replace once I get the correct part?
I have a Gateway and I'm getting the bios error 02FA, check your fan. Laptop won't get past the BIOS load. The fan is spinning when I check it. I did some research and it said it might not be spinning fast enough for the BIOS to accept it and it may need to be replaced. Is that accurate?

i was thinking of using the cpu fan header for my mcp355 for power as the molex pins are starting to detach and if i go through the hassle of re pinning it i might as well make it all on a 3pin. im rather sure that the 4 pin cpu headers should do 2A but im sure if its a good idea
