Hi, I finally decided on a set of speakers, the b&w cm7, but now need a good amp. Can anyone tell me if the Denon 2310 reciever will be sufficient to drive. My other option albeit more expensive is the yamaha 2065. Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hey all, I am looking at the B&W CM series speakers and was wondering if the step up from the CM5 2-way to the CM7 3-way with dedicated mid and bass drivers would really make that much of an impact on the sq for the extra $. Any opinions?

Hey guys, for my school jazz band, my band conductor would like me to add a guitar solo to this one part of the song. The chord changes are Bb7 G7 Cm7 and F7. I know that all of the chords (expect Cm7) have a F in common so it would be a good note to hit for the most part. I was just wondering what scales I could use for these changes and maybe even some licks that you guys know of?

Hi, Ive decided to learn jazz bar chords, such as cm7. however after about 3 mins of playing it gets quite painful, I play guitar a lot, but this is new,are there certain techniques to make these bar chords easier on the left hand or is it just more practice. many thanks

I am looking to buy new speakers, and have decided on Polk LSI15's. (also looking at B&W CM7) After doing alot of research it seems I need a really powerfull receiver, or at least to upgrade to a receiver with pre-amp outputs, and an amp. My current receiver does not have pre-amp outputs. I am interested in staying with a 5:1 suround system, and dont know if that means that i need a five chanel ...

Thanks Horacio, Today I will really let the puppies loose.. I didn't have much time to play last night before my daughter had to go to bed.. But.. Bunyip did indicate in his first post that he plays music at "relatively tame volume levels".. One thing I think we are missing (correct me if I am wrong) is a speakers ability to generate bass at low power will increase its ...

Try messing around with the scales you use every time the progression repeats, like maybe like AeolianWolf said, Bb mix, G mix, C dor, and then F mix. Then maybe play phyrgian dominant over one of the dom7 chords and switching to C minor for Cm7.

Al and Mike's changes are almost identical, in that you can fit Mike's bass line to Al's changes. | Bbm7 - F7/A or A° - | Bbm7/Ab - Eb7/G - | Ebm7 - Ab13 - | Db13 or Db6 - Gb13/Db - | | AbΔ/C - B° or Bm6 - | Bbm7 - A° - | Bb7 or Bbm7 - E9 Eb13 | Cm7 - F7 - | A° = Here the bass iine would differ, as Al has Cm7 - F7. I play it in G, with changes I modified from Real Book 3 . In ...
